Been having trouble with Onslaught and see no reason to try any other mode since you don't get anything and needing a premade of 5 for most missions makes it hard to get a team together and even then make it to the end, I can ge to the last round consistently with a Poppy and Jinx on the team but finding it hard to get past the Vel'koz swarm on the last round with the moving point since they can all just rapid fire.
I hope we get those skins that the enemies use, they all look really cool honestly.
Only have 1 token and can't even beat Onslaught once to get the other missions done, is there any other way to get the tokens or just from the missions?

Noob Zilean, Rammus and Kled trio main that loves to cause mischeif, mostly plays mid, top or support (practising Jungle). Also play Veigar, Vel'Koz, Thresh, Amumu, Fizz and Tahm Kench. I also dabble in random heroes that hit the free rotation that pique my interest.
Going mid as a support with ignite is more fun and effective than I ever imagined!

I know I'm on the border of resurrecting an old thread, but I just want to say that the Invasion game mode was the most fun special game mode I've experienced. At first, I was a bit disappointed that many of the missions required a 5-person premade. However, through combinations of using the LFG thread on the official boards and by meeting people in random game and asking if they wanted to join a pre-made group, this turned out to be less of a challenge than I realized. I enjoyed coming up with better and better builds over time, and the missions forced you to win the game mode with a variety of team compositions.
For example, for the second hardest mission, the "no utility" mission where you couldn't have
Poppy or any of the standard supports, I had fun figuring out how to equip lux to be an effective support and used Stoneborne Pact to make sure that all three of my team's ADC's were consistently getting the
Ardent Censer buff. I loved playing machine gun
Lulu for a couple different missions and was happy that I was dealing as much damage as the
Jinx characters were doing. After a while, I started maining as
Poppy and liked how much I could protect my carries and control the field. I especially loved her W that uniquely protected the team against
Kha'Zixs and
Rek'Sais. By the final days, I only placed one point into
Poppy's ult so that I could max out her QWE skills by the final encounter.
And, of course, I especially loved the intensity of going for the S mission. I ended up getting an S in one group and an S+ in another. You had to thread that needle of having enough damage to kill things quickly while at the same time having enough protection to keep people up. The group that got the S+ had me as
Poppy and a nearly full damage
Lux whose one concession to support was that she got an
Ardent Censer and was meticulous about throwing shields on the three AD carries. It took us a few tries and on each attempt, we often had to reset levels by intentionally dying when too many people died. But in the end, we let out a huge cheer on Discord when the final S+ grade appeared.
In the end, I had a lot of fun with it. The mode had a lot of replayability with the random spawns and different team configurations you were allowed. I ended up playing Invasion almost exclusively while it was available because it was so much fun. I hope they do something like that again in the future.
