what binding do you use for smartcasting?

I have it reversed. To smartcast I just use Q, W, E, R. To not smartcast I have to hold shift.

OH ha wow.

I don't really use smartcasting, I should.

What happens if you smartcast a non-smartcastable ability, such as, say, Anivia's E? Does it just cast on the nearest enemy to your mouse?

Smartcast just means you don't have to click left mouse-button to launch it, so don't have it mixed up with only working on skillshots :) The ability will fire if you have it over an enemy champion or minion.

I think smart casting is like cruise control, I just lose focus if I use it too often.
