I don't believe this is yet a feature. I know of friends that don't want to start from the ground up, but wouldn't mind to help edit a guide. I've also become very busy and allowing other users to contribute to my guide would be efficient.

I'm sorry if I'm posting in the wrong area. It's a quality-of-life suggestion and not absolutely necessary but would be beneficial to other users that can't be as invested to maintain a guide by themselves but would like to collaborate.

This is the right place to post this. This idea has been suggested a few times before, but it's helpful to us when people keep bringing it up. Helps us know what kind of features you guys want and how much you want them.

There are a lot of logistical problems we'd have to tackle to make collaborative guides work (can't just flip a switch to turn them on I'm afraid) so it's likely not in the cards for the short term. Longer term, this could be an idea we revisit.

Right now the best way to collaborate on guides is to use an external tool like googledocs and post any guide updates there. Then the author can publish new versions of the guide by copy and pasting from the doc. It's not quite as nice as an on-site tool but for the most part it gets the job done.

I don't know if this would be an option, or if it is difficult or not, but maybe this could be an idea:

A feature that allows MobaFire accounts to be linked to other MobaFire accounts, like this you could share an account with some friends, and link this account to all joining friends' accounts without having to share your own 'main' account.

Example: if 2 friends (account A & B) share an account (C), which is then linked to both account A and B. Both friends have free access to account C, but A doesn't have access to account B and vice versa.

I hope you get the general idea, because I feel like my explanation is kind of weird. ^^

Anyway, not sure if this would be an easier solution for the requested feature or not.
Just throwing in an idea! ^^

I'm not really sure what the best way would be to implement shared guides. That's probably something for the devs to weigh in on since they know better than I do what kind of potential issues might crop up with different implementations.

One idea I had was to assign "editor permissions" for a guide to another user, so they could make changes to the owner's guide, but the guide owner would have to approve new changes before they are implemented. Might help resolve some potential conflicts where two people are trying to edit the same guide if the "editor(s)" are just pushing new drafts instead of altering the existing guide directly.

But my programming experience is only academic so I'm not quite sure how feasible that is either. In any case, I can bring up the fact that some community members still want this feature and maybe it'll turn into something down the road. :)

First off, I really think that the implementation of this feature is something A LOT of authors would benefit from, especially the aformentioned newbies - I myself experienced that starting a new guide can be a real struggle, no matter how much you have to write about something. Numerous, already existing guides would profit from contributions of experienced players that for whatever reason can´t/ don´t want to start all over again. Additionally, having another viewpoint included can´t be bad.

I really like that idea a lot, but permanently having to approve changes might be counterproductive in the long term. Including a changelog would be great, so the owner of the guide is able to easily spot changes and - if necessary - delete them. Another great thing about this would be that there are already plenty of frameworks for changelogs, as used on most wiki pages. This would (probably) make things easier for our beloved developers.

One issue with having editors publish changes to the guide (or draft) directly is that you could have multiple people editing the guide at the same time, which can get really messy. We'd need to have a solution to that problem if we ever want to implement something like this.
