A quick little disclaimer, I am still rather new to the game, with only about 50 hours or so and this is a normal match. Was hoping for some feedback on this subject. So I was playing a game, and it was a losing game but throughout the game I was personally doing really well. I was playing Leona, and about half way through laning phase I started getting really aggressive because i knew i could take any kind of damage they threw out at me. So that snowballed and I was playing really aggressive throughout the game. Didnt die much, only 4 deaths by the end (1 was at the very end getting the master Yi ^_^) so I was not being stupid about it, just trying to make the enemy fear me. The biggest problem that I faced all game though is even though I was playing aggressive and I was having success with it, the rest of my team would try to follow me in, and wind up getting killed. I felt bad because I thought that in a way it was my fault that they were going in. This also happened earlier on in laning phase; with vayne deciding to come in. She even flamed me for it and I said "if you cant handle it do not push up with me" So, guys; I ask you: is it possible, as a tank support, to play too aggressive for a team, even if you yourself are not dying. Where you go in and you do what you can but your team around you die rather than you yourself. Thank you for your feedback ahead of time.

Leona is an initiator. If you go in, your teammates are expected to follow up and fight with you. If it's not safe for your team to follow up, then save your cooldowns and wait for a better opportunity.

Honestly I'm not sure what kind of situations you're talking about where it's safe to go in for you but your teammates can't follow up or they'll die. Especially in a 2v2, chances are if your Vayne dies, it means you gave up too much pressure by burning your cooldowns at a bad time and now the enemy duo lane can ignore you and safely focus Vayne.

If you want to be more self-sufficient you might want to try a mage support like Brand or someone ranged who can deal damage without fully committing like Thresh or Bard. Leona is more of an all-or-nothing kind of champion.
Thanks to Hoppermh for the sig!
