You should really be getting the best combination of AS, AD, ArPen, and crit. Crit does increase your DPS, but it's best combined with attack speed. Since your crits won't hit hard if you don't get armor penetration or AD, you should definitely go for those.
As for the full crit-page, that's not great on any champion but tryndamere. Searz said that with a crit build (
Infinity Edge,
Phantom Dancer but not necessarily 60% crit chance) you should definitely get armor pen runes (so any ranged carry), but with anything else (urgot, for example) you should get AD runes.
To answer your original question, I'm going to take a guess that 60% crit with lots of AD is better than 90% crit without. However, I think Searz would have the final say on that one.

Nooo. You're not quoting me right >:(
Rune wise you should get AD quints and armor pen marks on crit builds and only ArP when you've got physical abilities.
How much damage you do all relies on which items you have. My crit Ashe build (IE, Atma's, Ghostblade/LW, Phantom Dancer and a defensive item) has 85% crit chance (70% if I get LW) and it deals big damage.
For the best carry combo you NEED one ArP item and one AS item. Other than that you should just build to your own likings.

So basically High Crit and AS with maybe one AD item is really only good against squishes. (Probaly why trynd eats me alive.) Though if they are a team with more armor, or really bulky then you might be critting alot, but for much less damage. That is what I'm understanding from these posts.

One ArP item is needed regardless of how you build. One AS item is recommended to have too. After that it's all crit/AD/AS to your own preferences.
As a general rule: crit builds will always be most effective at increasing your auto-attack damage. If you rely on that for damage then crit is the way to go.
