There are definitely better champions out there to counter him but Trundle can be playable for the early skirmishes.
For runes I would run: Lethal Tempo - Triumph - Legend: Alacrity - Cut Down | Magical Footwear - Cosmic Insight.
I don't like Approach Velocity on Trundle Jungle mostly because if you're going to catch up to them you would be able to do so easily and if they flash away then they'd get out anyway.
For items: Full clear gives 900g,
First reset: Pickaxe - Blade of the Ruined King - Titanic Hydra/Stridebreaker/Deadmans Plate - Steraks/Knights' Vow/Locket
I would say that the core items would be BOTRK + any of the 2nd items (titanic/stride/deadmans) and steraks is really great third. Situational items onwards can be deathdance / spirit visage / cheap support items / hullbreaker etc.
I personally would stay away from Trundle Jungle despite it being decent against Darius. There are a lot of better champs in my opinion that can carry in jungle or provide a proper role for the team like a tank like sejuani/zac etc.
I have one question. Why tp is better than ghost ? We don't lose opportunities to take kills whithout ghost while we can still have a good farm whitout tp ?
Ghost received many nerfs and isn't as good as it used to be. It doesn't last long enough and the ramp-up speed is mediocre.
TP, especially in higher elos, is the most broken summoner spell in the game.
It allows us to play FOR the map and tempo will be better. This means we'll be able to reset better and lose less minions whilst also allowing us to get more on the map.
By being on the map longer, you are getting more gold and resources. There are times where the enemy can solo kill us with ignite/ghost/exhaust but will lose the lane because we're up in exp due to TP.
TP on trundle in the late game is also op. The threat of having TP up is enough to scare the enemy into playing defensively.

1) yes, spirits 3rd if they have heavy AP - FON is also fine, really great into gragas/morde but spirits should be the default MR item
2) Take overgrowth every time.
Second Wind: Aatrox, Gragas, Malphite, Gangplank, any ranged matchup.
Bone plating: Darius, Riven, Yone, Warwick, Olaf, Renekton, Rumble (can take second wind) any matchup where you CAN get threatened early levels/trading.
Demolish: singed, sion, any matchup where you win with absolute confidence (lower elo = greed demolish)
3) I try to NOT finish boots until after hydra+botrk, however if I reset on perfect gold for boots or if I'm vs certain matchups for example: singed/gragas/darius, where I need swifties to exist in lane or avoid deaths then I will finish swifties after hydra.
For tier 3 boots, the only ones you SHOULD be buying after 2 items (hydra+botrk) are swiftmarches since they're so overtuned and have insane synergy with Trundle. If you have perfect gold for swiftmarches then I would buy them after hydra+botrk, however if you have 1100g+ or if you can complete a major component like phage, steelbuckel (idk the armor+ad deathdance item) then its better to buy those components. please don't finish armor/mr t3 boots.
