There is nothing wrong with vet recs. They are a personal opinion and our way of showing to the community guides that WE think are deserving of some extra credit. They are our way of saying "maybe you'd like to have a read of this, we thought it was pretty good".

The thing is you Vet's got loads of different reasons as to why you have become Vet's - Which equals to that your opinion not necessarily is any more valuable than everyone else's. And as thus I do not find it to be "fair" that your's are actually weighting for more. If you catch my drift here I do not dislike you or any of the other Vet's at all, and I dont care if I haven't gotten an Vet - I just see a trend here which is not healthy for an site such as this one.
Ofc it's a good way to show it, but why should that function actually be limited to only Vets? I mean I do not see the NEED for it as all the guides will hit the frontpage at some point (apart from those that was made in the past ofc).
And once again just my opinion ^^

"If you don't like a guide then DV." And as such "if you like a guide UV". That and comments is all there is, and as such I do not see a need for the Vet as they make people biased to think things.
Dedication is a good thing, but doesn't necessarily mean that your opinion is more important than everyone elses.. Am I right or are Vet's suddenly godlike creatures of awesomeness? (pun intended and no hard feelings here, just teasing you!)

Well spending every day on this site has taught me so much about builds, item synergy, rune choices, etc.
It isn't Vet recs making people biased it's the whole comment-to-vote thing and people getting scared to DV.

Might be, but the Vet recs are really not making things any better tbh.
But probably it would help a tiny bit to not have it, it's just IMO there is no real reason to have it. Most likely though you are right in the thing that, that isn't the problem we have atm.
Glad you didn't take my comment too much to heart though :)

Imma go and try this out though, seeing that I've gotten very few votes in general on my guide even after updating it this might not help at all - But I will try to remove the need to comment to vote for the guide. And see where that leaves me, if all goes to hell with a **** ton of troll votes then I can always just delete and repost the guide to start all over ;)

It seems to me like he does understand. You're saying that Vet recommendations shouldn't exist, since they have too much of an impact, from what I'm understanding. I completely disagree, since most vets actually know what they're talking about, and the whole point is to get the guide more noticed. Tell me if I'm wrong, but this is what I gather from your posts.
His point is still very valid - What a Vet often ends up actually doing is giving that SINGLE guide a **** ton of attention and leaving all the guides that did not get a Vet recommendation to pretty much rot because it makes people/the users on mobafire think that the guide with a Vet recommendation is the ONLY good guide.
That is generalizing very much but it isn't false to my very own experience. Even sometimes there will be an old outdated guide which did at the time it was new gained an Vet recommendation. And people willl still think it is "teh bestest guide evarrh!" because it got an Vet.
Just my 2 cents here.
