Why is the Chinese art so consistently better than the US art?
Chinese culture has a better understanding of aesthetics. :]
American culture lacks a sense of proportion. It looooves to exaggerate features like arms, abs, chins, etc..
Also, you're biased because you see American art everyday anyway. Seeing someone "equally" good from a different culture is cool.

It really depends on personal preference/perception. The asian style of anime drawing has always been much more easier on the eyes (features symmetrical, lines not too hard, etc) whereas American cartoons are a lot harsher (edd, ed, n' eddy, Johnny Bravo to list a few examples). If you think that hard hard colors are better than soft colors, etc. you'll be skewed to enjoy one style of art over another.

It's funny because Akari sounds like a Japanese name.
It actually is lol. My bad for messing up the joke I meant to say asian art. If you read the trivia in the LoL wiki, her name actually makes a lot more sense being akari.

I'd hit that.
And by I'd hit that I meant, the chinese art tends towards an Anime style, but it also seems to put more effort into making it look finished, whereas a lot of the american art (especially for the skins) blurs at the edges and doesn't make the picture so sharp.
