I'm a strong independent black mage who don't need no mana.
The only champion I see them viable on is Lee Sin, I find his energy to regen the slowest, and he can consume it the quickest.

I absolutely love some CDR runes. And every energy using champ has ways to restore their energy faster, you just need to pay attention and figure it out. Seriously, there is at least one ability for each of them that restores energy.

YES! There is :D
and that is just my point.
MOAR energy MOAR cd's = maximising that champs potential.
Energy champs generally have a lot of utility (kennens stunning, shens taunting, leesins abilities) and you can make the most of that by having the most regular energy deliverd (regen) and always on time (cds).
I dont know its always something to try out..

How droll!
I'm working on getting energy seals per level on kennen. Kennen greatness weakness is energy so this will fix it. I'm up to 4 of them right now.
Oh btw, Lee sin is horribad champion! YEAH I SAID AND WHAT?

What the heck do you mean here.
What does CD have to do with energy...the higher cooldowns you have, the less energy regen you will need, the more, the more energy you will need to execute them more often, not the opposite o-o
And what ani means is:
LEE SIN: Flurry (Passive): (Innate): After Lee Sin uses an ability, for 3 seconds, his next 2 basic attacks gain 50% attack speed and return 15 energy each.
AKALI: Mark of the Assassin: Active): Akali throws her kama at a target enemy, dealing magic damage and marking the target for 6 seconds. Akali's melee attacks against a marked target will consume the mark dealing the same magic damage again and restoring energy.
SHEN: Shadow Dash: (Active): Shen rapidly dashes to a target location, Taunting enemies he collides with. Restores 50 Energy if you hit a champion.
KENNEN: Mark of the Storm (Passive): (Innate): Kennen's abilities add Marks of the Storm to opponents which last for 8 seconds. Upon receiving 3 Marks, an opponent is stunned for 1 second and Kennen receives 25 energy. The stun has a diminished effect if applied more than once within 7 seconds.
Lightning Rush: (Active): Kennen gains his base movement speed again as a flat movement speed bonus, as well as increased Armor and Magic Resistance, and the ability to pass through units. Lightning Rush deals magic damage and adds a Mark of the Storm to any hostile unit he passes through; deals half damage to minions.
Kennen is refunded 40 energy if he passes through an enemy while using this spell, but can only gain this effect once.
