Yes, your guides can now only have Comment2Vote for the first 20 votes.
Click here to see the official post.

This was done to curb the extremely high ratings on guides that have consistently sprouted since the implementing of the feature: Comment-2-Vote.

If your guide is 85%+, don't complain. 85%+ was supposed to be a very HARD score to get to.
(And, if you are not 85%+, you're not special enough to complain anyway.) :P

The scores on the site, as a whole, are getting "too" good. It makes it difficult for readers to tell what's good and what isn't. There needs to be some downvotes to keep scores accurate; yes, even if it means letting a few troll votes through.

Hell my WW guide went from 90% to 83%, and I still ain't mad. Nothing is more important than giving something to the community, regardless of scores.

Cluster bombing from B-52s is very, very accurate -- the bombs always hit the ground.

what i expect will happen is that people will down vote the guides just above theirs to make them jump a space. if this happens enough, all the top guides will sink down, and because of the bayesian weighting system, they will congregate together only a few % apart.

there def are some builds which are 10% better than others, and they deserve to be represented that way

requiring a comment to downvote is the most sensible way to ensure accurate ratings:

1) you need to read the guide
2) you find things which you disagree with
3) you downvote because of this
4) you explain your downvote using (2)

not requiring a downvote:

1) no longer have to read guide
2} no longer have to find things you disagree with
3) you can downvote
4) no longer need to explain your downvote

i understand that the hope is to make the ratings more reflective of the guide. however this isn't the way to do it, i think what will happen is the top guides will sink more quickly than the middle guides and will hardly be distinguishable.

at the moment they are rated higher because they are better. this system is taking steps backwards.

not trying to be rude, just explaining my opinion.

@SpicyRice:

This happens to all guides.
Sure, it's annoying, but from the looks of it, it's fair.

Also, C2V doesn't stop people from looking at a guide's build, skipping the description, and voting "+1 I love it"
That person didn't assess your guide properly either.
If you're going to complain about troll votes, address the sheep votes too.

EDIT:

To be more precise, even if "middle guides" sink less, guess what?
They'll just get downvotes as they rise up.

I think the problem here is you want immediate results.
Fat chance.
Sorry to say, but life doesn't work that way. Proper ratings will generally only sink in after months upon months of natural user flow. I know this from personal experience.

@SpicyRice

One of the biggest things c2v did was give guides a very false rating. People are so paranoid about revenge voting that they would simply refuse to downvote. Sure people still did, but there were many, many people who no doubt veered away from downvoting a bad guide simply because they were afraid to. Therefore, all it accomplished was silencing the community. It doesn't matter if it is a troll vote with no comment or not, when the community wants to downvote, it should be downvoted. The minute that 1 person wants to downvote, but is scared to, the guide achieves a false score. 85% was supposed to be an accomplishment, not an everyday thing.

This system is by far the best there has been. Guides are given the necessary protection early on, but then once they have a solid amount of votes, the community can take over as a whole and put the guide at the rating that THEY see fit, not what the author wants it to be. Troll votes are a very necessary part of this community, and this system reflects that by letting them have an opinion too. Just not so early that it destroys the rating.

Teamwork is essential. It gives the enemy someone else to shoot at.

Let me make something very clear SpicyRice:

There's not an army of down-voting trolls ready everyday at 12:00AM to charge the guides of MOBAFire and slaughter their score. There's not assassins hellbent on killing guides, making them look worse then they are. However there are some trolls, like there is everywhere, that down-votes. And like some viruses in our body we need them as much.

Do you think the C2V system was perfect, or even remotely good? It gave guides falser scores than ever before. Like Matt has said so, so, SO many times; "Trolls will troll". However that system silenced the "proper" down-voters, in fear of retaliation.

It's been explained over and over again, yet people just won't understand this. I guess Veterans, Mods, and Admins have more insight (one more than the other) on this matter, but even then our explanations should be efficient. Don't you think?

Oh, and let me..

1) They won't.
2) No.
3) Oh yeah, they will down-vote.
4) Adadwawdadawd; No.

And it's impossible for everyone to be clumped together because of downvotes from the competition. I mean, there's only so many guides and most people won't even bother to do it. You'll get 4-5 votes from it tops, and by the time you have over 40 votes it won't change that much. At least not enough that a good guide sinks to an average score
