when do you have to play a game to have an opinion on it? I've heard enough about portal and portal 2 to form an honest opinion. and then I try and share said opinion and everyone gets mad.
Like Potatis has said, the only part of your opinion regarding Portal 2 is the part about the cash shop. And IMO, considering they're unlockable through the purchase of other games, that's a good thing.
The reason why everyone is mad is because you're raging about a game when you've only read about it online. You don't see me creating topics about Hello Kitty Online because I heard someone say it's ****, do you?
You just can't criticize games you haven't tried based on some ****py flash version and some stuff you hear other people saying on your way home. You just can't.
Obviously you're doing it to infuriate people. And congratulations, mission accomplished. Be glad the technology to hit people through computer screens hasn't been invented yet.
I would honestly like to know what you expected from this topic.

uhm, yes you can. idk where this rule that you have to play a game before passing judgement on it came from.

that wasn't my intentions at all but sure whatever floats your boat.

i have no idea either.

Caucheka isn't THAT ******ed. Either or, trolling or not, this topic is hilarious. No matter what side, someone somewhere is yelling at their computer screen in frustration. It's just a bonus if Caucheka is really this butt hurt over Portal 2.

Why is everyone getting all pissed about his OPINION
He says it's a bad game: OPINION
He doesn't like the ingame shop: OPINION
He based his accusations off of what he has heard people say: STILL AN OPINON
He doesn't think the game is worth 45$: OPINION
Sure, you've all gave reasons why you disagree, but that doesn't make it invalid or mean he's trolling. His opinions are totally valid and not trolling. I don't agree with them either, but I'm not going to be hostile or say he's a troll just because I don't agree.
People have argued that the double cost is justified for double the game length blah blah, but that doesn't mean he has to agree with it. Quit trying to negate everything he says just because you don't agree, it's inconsiderate and just plain rude. He wants an opinion, quite pissing yourselves because you have a different one.
I realize that he was hostile towards you guys, but not before you took everything he said and just threw it away. You are acting like what he thinks doesn't matter, the only logical thought about this game is you guys'. And yet one of you told him to grow up.
I'm sorry, I really respect all of you very much and hate to sound rude like this, but it's sad that you can't accept other opinions.

^ Finally a valid post in this thread.
I've never played Portal or Portal 2, it looked okay tbh, but i'm not really into puzzle games so it would be a waste of money for me if I played it once and went meh, not that bad but i'd rather play __________. I would also rather do something myself then base my opinions on someone else's opinion.
I don't know if the numbers of times for people to play is accurate, but if it is...15 hours of gameplay is nothing. No matter how fun a game is, if there is that amount of time you can put into it just to beat it, I would never buy it. Ever. My personal opinion is that games like that are a waste of money because you get very little enjoyment out of them. I've put in over 250 hours on LoL since I joined in Dec. In Cod4, I put in over 1250 hours and I wasn't even at 10th prestige yet. (mind you I didn't prestige every time I was level 50) So basically what i'm saying is that to justify the cost of a game, you have to play it enough to get every bit of enjoyment you can out of it. For me, that is a lot of hours, for others it might be less. Caucheka might feel the same way, which is why he says you shouldn't buy it. I don't know, never tried it myself, probably never will.

You're comparing a game's 15 hour single player campaign to other game's online multi-player. Apples to oranges my friend. If you don't want to buy a game there are places you can rent them for your consoles. That way you don't waste your $45 dollars so saying a game sucks for it's price is ******ed in itself.

the idea of a puzzle game like portal seemed uninteresting to me, and this game was made to mimic it. it was free and didn't require me to pirate anything.
i found this completely unentertaining, so the idea of paying for a 3d version of this sounded like a bad decision to me. get over it.
edit: i agree that comparing it to an online multiplayer in terms of gamelength and replayability is stupid. online multiplayer games are made for you to play the same things 50million times and enjoy it.
i love single player games, they are mostly what i play. and yes i replay them at least once, i'm not an achievement hunter either, to me its just a waste of time. but to me portal 2 just doesn't sound like it would have barely any replayability, its the same puzzles every time.

I could have said Dark Sector, Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, NHL 10/11, etc etc etc. Dungeon Siege has easily the most expansive gameplay i've ever seen and it's about the same price as Portal if you can find it, imo it is cost effective while Portal seems like it isn't. Renting is also a waste of money imo, not as much as buying, but still. Also far as I know the only place I can rent games is blockbuster, which doesn't have any PC games. Yeah.
Btw the worst thing is that he isn't trolling....
