I would check this out: http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/forum/signatures/xiaos-photoshop-resource-3655

Also if you go to deviantart.com and search "signature tutorial" there's a lot of tutorials there as well.

By the way I just now noticed your request for a signature in my thread, but it looks like you want to make your own now so I'll assume that's what you're going to do.

Good luck! :)
Thanks to Minho for my sig!

Why don't you give it a go, and post for help here if you need it? I'm sure when Xiao checks too he'd be very helpful, cuz he's like that. Also he's a lot better than me so he can probably help you more than me... :P

This is what I do when creating a signature:

1. Create a 500x120 picture
2. In a new layer draw a 1px black border with the pencil tool
3. Render an image with the polygonal lasso
4. Use a 1px black inner glow to erase any imperfections in the rendering process
5. Make or google a background that suits the colours of your render
6. Go to dafont.com, find a font for the name and write the name
7. Use layer styles such as outer glow or inner shadow to make your render and name stand out
8. ???
9. Profit

This is the simplest sig you can do. To add other cool effects you can:
1. Use brushes to spice up your background or the whole sig
2. Create a black layer in screen mode and use render->lens flare to give your sig cool lighting effects
3. Copy the render layer and make it invisible, grab the smudge tool, hit f5 to add some scattering, angle and minimum diameter, and proceed to smudge your background+render (with sample all layers enabled) for some cool effects
4. Just go look for tutorials and follow them

Yea, look at Xiao's tutorials that Mowen linked, I learned a lot from them. You need to find your own style.

But, what you seem to be doing is basically adding effects -- that is not really how you make a signature. You actually have to get in down and dirty.

What I do for non-pop art sigs is render, dupe the render, smudge (hard smudge, not the one that spreads all over), C4Ds/fractals, paint if need be, text (using clipping layer most of the time), border by selecting sig with rectangular marquee, new layer, edit > stroke.

it takes time, but with practice you will learn :)

@Mowen ^_^ Thanks

@Screwblum Theres no 'true' way to show or tell someone how to make one but there are some basic aspects to making one. As already expressed by Canoas you first want to:

1. Create a canvas for your signature. As seen in your signature it's too square to the extent is like a overly sized avatar. For my signatures I usually go for the 450~480 width by 150~180 height.

2. After creating your canvas, you first want to post your image/stock in (if necessary render your image/stock going around it with a lasso tool deleting the background). For the majority of my sginatures i render the image out only to add smaller effects and filters to it later. I keep the background so i don't have to google one that looks fitting.

3. Now you should have a plain background with your render, or the original image with a rendered image above. (so Layer 1: Original, Layer 2: render) Now you have this (I duplicate my render layer several times) you want to start adding effects which can be:
Fractals (Set to linear- , color dodge, or screen and lighten)
    C4D's (" - ")
Brushes (I like the splatter ones :D)
Other (This could be pen lines, various textile effects such as Wintermonds signature (sp))

4. Now after your effects I generally do the focus and lighting. (Apply image on a new layer, sleect your hidden render then go back to layer that you applied image on and go to filter>sharpen>sharpen and play around with opacity and fill, and then add lens flare/lighting effects, be sure to experiment with the opacity and fill of the layer)

5. After all these steps you should be near complete, add a border (select > Edit>stroke>Px1) then fix some areas if needed, and finally add text if neccesary.

Your Signature
I'm guessing this is your first, and already you've shown soem nice experimentation with filters and layer properties which is more than i could do on ym first attempt or even in my first weeks of the program. The text is also nicely placed. however, you want to try and refrain from sing filters as they generally are there to help boost the image not to help boost the images' identity. In other words use filters to help your image not to make your image. At the moment is seems very overly filtered (plastic wrap perhaps?). not only this but the color coordination is wrong and so forth the background is plain and there is no focus or lighting. If you want as already posted by Mowen (thanks :D) you can check my resource thread it shows some clear outlines on how to make a signature and also how to make signatures similar to my style, and to be honest *whispers* it's not that difficult. Just takes a fair bit of practise and a couple of goes (sp) and you're there :)
