In the current metagame, this is a very strong lane and 9/10 of my ranked game feature the AD carry support duolane on both sides. What I am wondering is what you guys think the best combos are, hopefully we can get enough good combos for every champion. If you haven't done the AD support duo, man you are missing out! Your support provides you with the very easy ability to farm up and get that cs high. You basically don't even have to cast a spell to get anything out of this lane if your support is good. Just last hit, last hit, last hit. So yeah, what do you guys think are the best combos? I'm really liking Corki Soraka atm.

Thanks to Xiaowiriamu for the sig!

I'm guessing this metagame came out because of dreamhack. If the pros are doing it we should do it too, right? While this kind of gameplay does require more coordination (i mean what are the chances a pubber is just gonna let you have all the farm) it does essentially give you 3 solo lanes in gold, if you have a jungler. Since AD character scale more with items than they do with levels, it makes sense. I think Ashe/taric is a really strong combination because taric's natural tankiness lets him not only heal ashe but absorb damage away from her.

Caitlyn, Vayne, or Trist plus Sona or Soraka is extremely strong right now, because all three AD champions are very powerful at harassing and zoning while the supports keep them alive. Hotshot is a fan of Caitlyn+Sona.

This metagame has actually been around for a while. EU started it up months ago during EMS or some ****. As far as the support letting you farm goes, I personally have no problem with a support stealing my last hits. I'm in 1600+ elo right now and all supports are pretty understanding that the carry should be getting the cs. Btw, I laned with Corki Soraka and we beat Ashe Taric(with a couple ganks though). It's a pretty strong lane but the main problem is that taric can't heal ashe enough to protect her in exchanges.

Caitlyn/Ashe + Janna.
Sona + Vayne (amazingly strong).

^ My best bets tbh. Both with heals, extra effects, CC and good range.

It's a powerful combination, but annoying as hell to play against.

I think the reason why supports like Janna and Zilean are beginning to fall out of popularity is because there's now a need for a strong healer in bot lane to establish lane dominance. While Janna/Zilean may be stronger later, a lot of people simply opt to dominate the early game in terms of CS and possibly kills.

I feel the same way. What I have been wondering though is how viable AP/Support is bot lane. Traditionally your ap carry solo's mid or top, but I feel they can be superbly strong in bot too. Anivia, Kass, etc all benefit a lot from supports like Sona/Taric/Soraka and can still pretty much free farm. I've seen stuff like Anivia/Taric or Anivia/Sona really dominate bot lane, especially vs ad carries.

The reasoning behind AD bot, AP mid is because AP carries generally rely on clutch abilities and level ups to achieve dominance. Consider Annie, who becomes extremely dangerous the second she hits six, or Akali, who is the same.

AD carries, on the other hand, become deadlier once they reach 6 but not so much that items won't make a difference. They scale hard with items, not levels, so they can afford to stay bot and keep CSing. AP carries need CS and levels.
