Considering Wukong's Q automatically reduces target armor by 30% for 3 seconds, would putting LW on him (if going off tanky DPS, more DPS than tank) be as bad *** as I think it could be? I know Kong isn't a favored champ right now, but could it potentially make him stronger (if they buff him)? I would think Atmogs+Mercs+Triforce+Last Whisper+other item might be strong. As well it might modify his rune page, if we forgo ArP marks+Quints for additional options.

first off its bugged that his q only reduces base armor. its barely noticable.

but if it was working as intended, last whisper would only penetrate 28% of their armor. with 30% armor reduction, you would then be penetrating 70% of their armor. 40% of 70% is 28%.

The way the game applies its math is so @_@ XD. Thank you for your insight.

uhm thats how math works in real life.

lets say the target has 100 armor. then you hit them with q and they have 70 armor. (30% of 100 is 70.)

then if you smack them with last whisper, you have 40% armor penetration. 40% of 70 is 28, meaning the target would have 42 armor, not 30.

penetration and reduction percentages are multiplicative, not additive.

i'd say black cleaver would be a better choice, the armor penetration from black cleaver vs last whisper evens out in this case when the target has 230+ armor.

What caucheka said. Percentage reduction is incredibly powerful and once they fix his Q, you'll want flat reduction or flat penetration. Cleaver is okay but I think Ghostblade may be stronger.

Ah, math irl SUCKS

:P

I thought his Q would act as an auto attack applying the full 70% reduction. Because I'm dumb XD. Oh well, no worries I figured TBC or GB would be a better choice if my logic was in correct. TY for clarifying.

Yea, it probably is. But the good thing about TBC is that it's applied after the %armor reduction (so is Ghostblade's ArP, but I just wanted to clarify it).

Wihout hijacking the thread here, can I get something clear please thats bugged me for a while - When the game factors ArPen and MgPen, does it factor the percentage before the flat amount or vice versa?

For example, Lets say the person had a last whisper and a youmuu's ghostblade - and the target had 100 armour.
Percentage first: 100 * 0.4 (= 40), - 20 (= 20 armour left)
Flat amount first: 100 - 20 (=80), * 0.4 (= 32 remaining armour)

It's clear which is more potent (at higher amounts), but I STILL dont fully understand the game mechanics here.

it goes

percent reduction > flat reduction > percent penetration > flat penetration

in order list.
