Post about your favorite manga/anime/etc; what you're currently reading, past favorites, upcoming new ones.

At the moment I keep up to date with:

-Naruto
-Bleach
-One Piece
-Bakuman
-Fairy Tail
-Toriko
-Claymore

In the past, I've read:

-Full Metal Alchemist
-Death Note
-Eyeshield 21
-Slam Dunk
-Rosario+Vampire
-Shaman King
-Dragon Ball Z
-Yu-Gi-Oh: Millenium World

Right now, Naruto is probably the best of the Weekly Shonen Jump manga. It consistently brings both good action, dialogue, and character development, and doesn't have many plot holes.

Bleach had a period where it was incredibly boring - nothing happens, maybe some dialogue, but the biggest problem is fights or conversations that could take one chapter that are instead spread out over 3 or 4 chapters. The Soul Society arc was excellent, the Arrancar arc was okay, but once the Aizen fight started, things got a little ridiculous and the Fullbring arc isn't very good, although it is getting better.

One Piece is pretty generic, but it does have some good fight scenes, I'll admit. Still, it's getting repetitive - crew arrives at an island, beats the **** out of everyone, gains a new crewmate, moves on. Impel Down was awesome and a good change of rhythm.

Bakuman is from the writers of Death Note and is excellent overall. I've yet to find something I don't like about it. It's a manga about writing manga, so there's very little action in it, but it's something I find really enjoyable.

Fairy Tail is about mage guides who do battles and take commissions for certain quests (being paid upon completion). While the fight scenes are decent, the manga is incredibly formulaic and repetitive, and there's too little character development and plot development. 245 chapters in and I STILL don't know who the hell the main antagonist is, or what the protagonist's major goal is.

Toriko is a battle manga about food. It's great, but is a lot like Dragon Ball Z with their "power-ups" - still, the fights are awesome and gory, and it's a very good 50/50 mix of fighting vs. humor and flavor (literally). The food scenes are refreshing and appetite-inducing even after a massive bloody fight. Not joking.

Claymore currently is getting really intense, with the rebellion at its peak. The most recent chapter was a backstory (which was probably necessary). My favorite arc would have to be Pieta, but this is pretty nice. Still want to know what happened to Clare. The author doesn't seem to be attached to any of the characters and doesn't have a big problem killing them off, lol.

Regarding the manga on the list I posted, I highly recommend reading the "big three" (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece), in addition to Bakuman, Toriko, Full Metal Alchemist, Death Note, and Eyeshield 21.

<3 Claymore

So much. Much better than the Anime and that's saying something, it's my favourite anime.

Only Manga I religiously read, I'm reading GTO at the moment extremely slowly, but whatever.

Anime wise I have a LOT. And cba posting them all :/

I've read all but Black Butler and Pokemon.

FMA is AMAZING.
Bakuman is good.
D-Grayman is meh. Lovely art, but the story is kinda messy.
Fairy Tail is pretty good. Just predictable as **** and a little dumb at times.
I haven't finished Deathnote yet. I put it on a pause because it was sooooooooo drawn out and got kinda boring. I've heard the ending is good tho.

Only FMA really beats Bleach. Bakuman might be better too, but that's not a clearcut case.

(Since the other thread got locked)

I was really dissapointed with D-grayman. It had a lot of potential that just seemed to get wasted. For fairy tail, I'm more of a fan of its art and humor then its story really. It's predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I think hands down FMA was probably the best thing to come out of manga. No wonder they redid the anime series to reflect the manga, the first anime of FMA was a joke compared to it.

As for pokemon special, like I noted, it's just for the hardcore fanboys of pokemon like me, unless you're into that sort of stuff. It gives a more 'realistic' look at the series from another authors eyes.

Xenasis: What's GTO?

Toshabi: I agree with that statement on D-Gray Man. I loved the beginning, and then around chapter 175 I was just thinking, "What the **** is going on?" I think it was around the weird Kanda arc.

I do not read mange, I only watch anime, though I'm rather new to it.

I've currently finished watching:

Ano Hana (recommended by Wintermond) - Amazing in my opinion.
Berserk - Good, but a bit meh that it doesn't "really" end where it should have.
Claymore - Really good, loved the characters and the plot.

Currently watching:
Full Metal Alcehmist: Brotherhood - Seems to be absolutely amazing.
I've also watched all Naruto episodes to date.

Xenasis: What's GTO?

Great Teacher Onizuka.

@Dotter
The last few episodes of Claymore were a disgrace to the manga, unfortunately. I loved it, but hated the ending of the anime. It pretty much ensures there's no series 2 without a huge change in the plot too.
Spoilers (of anime - very minor spoilers of manga) -

Like at the end of the anime, in Pieta, in the manga, Miria essentially got them to feign death using yoki suppression pills, they didn't take them all on, they would've had no chance. Also, in the manga, Priscilla was never actually in Pieta. She was in the north, with Isley and Raki, but she never went to Pieta OR fought with Clare. Furthermore, later on in the manga, when Clare fights Priscilla for the FIRST TIME, when Priscilla wasn't in her awakened form, Clare didn't land a scratch on her, and wouldn't have got away alive without the intervention she got.

Funnily enough I'm also watching FMA: Brotherhood. Not too far in though, only seen 6 episodes, but it's really good so far!

Then I should be glad that I haven't read the manga :p
However, I wasn't that satisfied with the ending either. Dunno why, I just didn't feel that it was really a finished plot, I kinda wanted to know more ^^

I'm 46 episodes into FMA:Brotherhood now. The plot is just pure awesomess.

What Xenasis said. Claymore anime can't even compare to the manga.

At the moment I keep up to date with:

Too many to write here. Prolly over 20 >:3
But here's the most interesting ones:

-Berserk (best read ever if you don't mind a little gore)
-Naruto
-One Piece
-Toriko
-Claymore
-Noblesse

Sadly, Berserk is only released every now and then. About a month between each chapter, but the art effin' amazing in the current chapters, so that's not a big problem.
(this reminds me, I haven't read berserk in a few months, now I got like 4-5 chapters to read >:D)

In the past, I've read:

-Full Metal Alchemist
-The Breaker
-Eyeshield 21
-Elfen Lied
-Slam Dunk (sadly only liked the later parts of the manga)
And a bunch of other pretty meh mangas.
