Red pot, bro.
AKA Elixir of Fortitude.
Also, the regular potions really aren't useless. They give you a lot greater lane sustain, so if you're not buying a 475 item you may as well pick up a potion or two. As long as you're not at like 100 health or ignited, you'll get the full heal from them. Treat them more like say, Sona's heal, which is unlikely to save you if you're getting attacked, but will heal for a great deal over time.

lol. any time you die from a tick of ignite or something, you'll wish you had activated a potion. any time you're being hit by a dot, potion. under 50% health? Potion, now you have less pressure on you.
potions make your laning easier. that is why typically people will buy potions every time they go back to lane (even 1) unless they have sustain or something.

Far from useless! I always get a few pots with boots, because I don't use them when I am at 20hp but before. Most enemies don't have the burst that puts you at really low at once, so you can be 50% hp and use your pot, play a bit defensively and get back to 75% or more.
So why is it useless? I can't see it. Though mana is a bit more expensive...

Red potion = InstaHP + AD :3~
But it's too expensive for 200 HP, and it heals only once. It should be an insta-heal potion, no extra AD, no extra HP, no extra price.

Ignite is only useful to counter flash. If they dont have flash, get Exhaust and kill ur enemy with or without potion.

"Potions are useless"? That couldn't be farther from the truth.
It's like you're saying that whenever you lane, the only possible way you're going to die is if your enemy bursts you from full to zero. It's like you're always at full health when you lane - but if you're Vlad, this may be true.
Grabbing pots allows you to exchange harass and come out ahead because each health potion is an extra 200 HP for you.
Practically, you should never be getting bursted from full to zero ALL THE TIME. Potions let you win harass wars. They let you spam your spells on Annie as she hits you with Q+W so you can still come out ahead so she CAN'T instantly kill you the moment she hits 6 because you've been zoning her and harassing her.

I think that if you get to a point where Annie let you so low and you had to use a potion, you're certainly losing the battle. And if she stuns you when you're losing, it's certain death.

I was playing a match today and a teammate asked:
"Vlad solo without potion?"
I said "yeah, potions are useless"
Of course the whole team asked why, and here's the answer: it has overtime heal.
In other words: if you dont flash to your tower and ghost like crazy not to get killed, even with an easy slow, they'll get you.
The potions LoL has are mostly viable for junglers, where there's almost no one to kill you (but minions can still do it) and you have time to wait and recover anywhere.
What we need are insta-heal potions. Yeah, the
If you're dying and use a potion, it'll gradually recover your HP, however, if the enemy slows you, you're dead. But if the potion insta-heals you, maybe the slow will not be able to prevent your escape.
We should have both kinds of potions, maybe different prices too. What you guys think?
