You don't seem to understand what pots are for. Pots are not meant to to save you from a gank (although they can), they are not meant to save you from a full burst from a LeBlanc. They are there to give early game sustainability. When you're laning, you are going to be harassed by the oppoenent that is guaranteed. You will be harassing too, but if you get out harassed, you will have to take a much more passive approach to your lane, which generally means hugging your tower. This is not conducive to farming (which is top priority early game) and will ultimately give your opponents a serious advantage, even if they do not explicitly kill you. Popping a pot allows you to reset the playing field so that you don't get completely zoned out and allows you to avoid having to recall early. It's even useful after an exchange mid if you get the kill but are left with exceptionally low health and vulnerable to a gank.
OK, I got it.
But I still have a question: why people complain when they see that I dont get a potion?

If you were trying to convince a person, do you think that this answer would change things?

If you're not buying a doran's item you may as well spend the leftover gold on a potion or two. It'll help you stay in lane for longer, and if you don't buy any you'll just have 35g+ just sitting there doing nothing.
They are complaining because you don't use the full lane sustainability you could, and that doesn't sit well with a team that wants you to do your best. Easy as pie.
If you for some reason want to follow my ranked journey to gold, you can do it Here.
I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

Maybe those HP pots will be OP, but the fact is that in not talking about when you are laning and after 5 mins, you lose half of your max HP, but a way to counter a massive combo. Or you're so good to use a potion while the enemy is using his devastating combo to let you low enough?
Imagine LeBlanc. She kills things with one combo (yeah, I saw it, the enemy went from full to 0 in one combo and LeBlanc wasnt even fed). Even if you use a potion while she attacks you, you'll die. But with an insta-heal potion, you could have a chance to survive.
The normal potion takes a while to recover a good amount of HP, and the insta-potion heals you when you use.
