Man, scary ****. Glad to see you're okay, though! :)
Not to try and turn the attention on myself at all, but I had a VERY similar experience about 6-ish years ago (I thinkk...). I was living in Anchorage, AK at the time. We rarely got thunderstorms up there, but during one, lightning actually struck my house, sounded like a ****ing BOMB went off in my attic. Scary thing was, my dad was laying on the couch in the living room, watching Football, and suddenly felt really nauseous, so he went to his room at the back of the house to lay down for a bit. Not 10 minutes past, and lighting struck in my living room, hit that same ******* couch he WOULD have been laying in.
SO ****ing weird how things like these work out, huh?

Maybe this is what riot meant when they told us to expect the unexpected. All our houses will be struck by lightning.

This reminds me of when I went on a backpacking trip, we camped somewhere near a telephone poll in the middle of the woods(???) and then it started storming, and we heard and saw a really close lighting strike, so once the storm calmed down we went back outside and found that our guide, whose tent was close to the pole which was struck, was shaking and not responding. He turned out ok, we just had to get paramedics to pick him up.
