Let's talk alistar

I want to know the best way to build him to support my team. So far I have started w doran's shield, then built philo stone, boots, heart of gold, and aegis. After that, I really don't know. I've built frozen heart, but does it just come down to building whatever defense is necessary? (armor for AD, MR for AP)? Or are there specific items that are really good on ali? I thought about rylai's....AP+tankiness. What do you think? Thanks![/quote]

At the end of the day though, it's generally better to just be bare-bones support Alistar, because that's already so damn good. It's comparable to AD Poppy. Once you get there though it's just terrifying. And Alistar's not useless for early/mid game.[/quote]
