Thanks to your guide , i got a pentakill !!
Sweet! Keep up the good work man!
Are you ***ing kidding me, this guide should be number 1 and all you do is say stuff off your own opinions, This guide works better than yours ive tried it so dont come in here and rate it 6/10 when yours is close to 4/10.
Chill out. "And all you do is say stuff of your own opinions". Well, yeah, exactly, that was the whole point in my post. My opinion is that his guide has a few mistakes, and that the build could be better. I've pointed out the mistakes I've found in his guide, and I've told him what items I believe he should change. I'm sure the man can handle a little bit of constructive criticism.
Hey, I'm gonna review your guide because... Well, to tell you the truth, I'm bored! :D
I'll start off with the item sequence of your first build.
- Boots and pots. Good start for Talon, offers sustainability and speed, something a squishy meelee desperately needs.
- B. F. Sword. It's a good item for Talon, but are you sure you should take it so early? You mention in your guide that you farm until level 6, and by then you should have enough gold for this item, but you also mention that you should try and lane with someone with range such as Tristana, so I assume you take Talon bot. How can you get enough farm there to get a B. F. Sword so quickly, when you're having to share your farm with the AD carry? And until you get this expensive item, you're having to lane with just boots, which don't offer you that much of an advatnage against your enemy. You shouldn't only take Doran's Blades when you're having a bad game, I always get at least 1, max 2 Doran's Blades each game, both before B. F. Sword. So what I'm saying is, you should get other items before B. F. Sword, not rush it after boots.
- Boots of Swiftness. Good choice for boots, complements your speed quints greatly. No complaints there.
- Sheen. I disagree with this item on Talon, especially so early. Assuming you manage to get it at say, level 10, you'll only have 81 base AD. For just 400 gold more you could have gotten a B. F. Sword, ( yes, you already have one, but for the sake of the discussion, let's say you don't have one yet ) which gives 45 AD. The total scaling of this item with your abilities is 202.5, and when you take into account the damage it does on the 2 auto attacks of your burst, it does 90 more damage, for a total of 292.5 damage, which is 211.5 damage MORE than Sheen does. All for just 390 more gold. I'm afraid Sheen is just quite inefficient on Talon because there are items that do the job MUCH better than it does.
- Pickaxe. Good choice for Talon, 25 AD is a nice addition to his burst, no complaints here.
- Infinity Edge. Yet another good item for Talon, the crits will give you massive damage, and the AD adds a lot more damage to your burst too. I would personally get Bloodthirster first, but that's just my preference.
- Phage. I disagree with this item, unfortunately. HP is unnecessary on Talon, if you're playing him correctly, 18 AD is weak, and it doesn't build into any item that offers huge AD, which is specifically what Talon needs.
- Cloak and Dagger. This is pretty much a waste of an item slot, sorry. The attack speed is wasted, the tenacity is something you could have gotten hand-in-hand with your choice of boots, and while the crit chance complements your Infinity Edge nicely, it isn't giving you any AD, which is the most important stat on Talon.
- Trinity Force. Just like Sheen, this item doesn't actually give you much damage. A Bloodthirster costs 1070 gold less, and even with no stacks, it does more damage than Trinity Force does at level 18. If you want to see proof that Bloodthirster is better and won't just take my word for it, refer to my own Talon guide, Vapora's Guide To Talon, under the section "Trinity Force vs The Bloodthirster".
- Bloodthirster. By far the best item you could ever take on Talon. But you should take it before Trinity Force, or even better, remove Trinity Force completely and replace it with another Bloodthirster.
- Banshee's Veil. This is a good item, blocking a stun can really save your *** during a fight. But the problem with this is that someone can pop your shield and THEN stun you, at which moment you'll probably die. If you've got good enough reflexes, then Quicksilver Sash is more effective than Banshee's in these situations. Just a tip.
So that's all I had to say about your build, now I'll move onto the actual guide.
- You mention various times that you remain unseen by jungling when you're not ganking. This seems like it could be VERY annoying to your jungler, especially as you also mention that you should take the red whenever it's up.
- How do you expect your laning partner to survive in a 1v2 lane for the rest of the laning phase, let alone farm?
- You say that at level 6 you go B and get a B. F. Sword. I repeat that it would be very hard to get one so quickly while having to share your farm with someone.
- Under "Lane Vs Roaming **READ** New", when advising how to gank you say "Start off a little far back with Shadow Assault so they can't see the blades. Run closer to them and use cutthroat to get behind them. Then KITE THEM, to let all your blades hit them best as you can". This gives me the impression that you believe every blade that hits a champion will damage them, which is not true, unfortunately. Your ultimate can only damage one champion twice, once when the blades are on the way out, and once when they're on the way in again. It would be pretty OP if they worked how you thought, because let's see, each blade scales 0.9 per bonus AD and does 260 base damage. Now let's say your only items are 3 fully farmed Bloodthirsters. You have 300 extra AD, meaning each blade does an extra 270 damage, equalling 530 damage in total for each blade. Let's say you manage to hit the enemy with 10 blades? That means you do 5300 damage with just your ultimate. As you can see, it would be way too OP if Talon's ultimate worked like that. So I suggest that you fix that sentence of your guide.
- Under your chapter "In The Lane", you state that being pushed to your tower is a good thing, which I'm sure many people on mobafire will agree with me, when I say it isn't. You aren't able to free-farm, because your tower is making it very difficult for you to get every last hit, and the only way your enemy wouldn't be able to free farm would be if they were meelee, because you could Rake them every time they got near. But if it's a ranged champion, then they can stay out of range still getting last hits, while you struggle to last hit every minion because of your tower.
- Cloak and Dagger really is an item slot wasted on what could have been a massive addition to your burst. I'd suggest not having a chapter dedicated exclusively to saying how great it is.
- You also have a chapter dedicated exclusively to Trinity Force, saying why you take it. I suggest removing both that chapter, and Trinity Force from your build, as Trinity Force doesn't give you enough burst damage. Refer to my own guide once more if you wish to see the proof.
- You list Banshee's Veil twice under Situational Items.
- Wit's End is not a good situational item for Talon. It only adds 80 damage to your burst, and the attack speed is wasted.
- Executioner's Calling is an amazing item, yes, but not for Talon, as it barely gives him any additional damage. Another item that all in all, is a wasted item slot when it could have given you a massive AD boost.
- "But they're JUST SO TANKY". If the entire enemy team is stacking high amounts of armor, then fair enough, I guess it would be okay to take both Last Whisper and [youmuu's ghostblade]]. But Black Cleaver is never an acceptable choice on Talon. Even if you burst them when they have 45 less armor, having a flat AD item such as Bloodthirster would do more damage than Black Cleaver would with all its stacks on the target. And aside from that, the attack speed would be wasted. Never take this item on Talon.
That's all I have to say about your guide. I'm not going to go in-depth about the other two builds in your cheatsheet, but I'll say that the second build is my favourite out of the 3, the 1st is in between, and the 3rd is the worst build, because it doesn't take enough AD. Over-all, I'd give this guide a 6/10.
