With the sustain nerfs I can actually see Blitz being viable in bot lane. Double stun bot lane is coming back :D

****, I'd say give him back some damage and change one of his CC's to a stun rather than a displacement. Being able to chain together two displacements back to back (and then have teammates build off of that) is just disgusting.
Power Fist needs a cooldown increase too, to be honest. 3 sec cooldown on a 1 sec knockup is absurd.

oh thanks you told me, im just ganna mail TSM CLG and co and tell them they shouldnt be playing alistar anymore! Huge contribution to the NA metagame.
Now b2t: I played blitzcranks as support, as csing botlaner and as toplaner. I play him as support every once in a while and have great success with it (carrying the **** out of soloQ as support^^) or i sometimes play him toplane where he kinda fits if you can pull it off. The problem with blitzcrank is, that he wont get to many cs in early laning and he has a very low tolerance for mistake. Every little mistake will cost you a lot. But if you can pull it off and go for the full mana build aka manamune triforce frozeh heart banshees, you will be wrecking people np. Laning gets alot easyer after you got your sustain going ie ALOT OF MANA with strength of spirit (****load of regen!!!) and from that point on you can cs freely and out harass alot of toplaners.
TL;DR: Blitz is a great support for low elo games and can carry games on his back as a toplaner if pulled off correctly

He has to duo lane. Solo lane Blitzcrank is going to get **** on by virtually anyone else who is a solo-capable hero. He has no sustain, no poke, and is ridiculously vulnerable to harass.
You basically have Blitzcrank replace a dedicated support (Taric, Janna, Soraka, etc) in a duo lane bot. Works best if you've got him setup with a partner that also provides some CC. Good choices are Tryn (though why would he lane rather than jungle?), Tristana, Caitlyn, and Ashe can also do well (permaslow trololol.)
If you want **** to get just ridiculous, stick him in a lane with Alistar. You will absolutely devastate that lane - either they sit at their tower all game and lose out on CS (because the tower will be killing their creeps more than they will) or they try to play normally and get thrown from midlane into the other team's tower. It's just absolutely disgusting. Alistar opens with his charge, Blitz grabs them when they land, they go back into the air with Power Fist, Alistar rams them back even further, and by time Blitzcrank is around lvl 3-4 you get hit with Power Fist again. It's an absolutely guaranteed kill if you don't have Flash available to bail out (and you might die anyway, especially if they force Flash and then use Rocket Grab to yank you right back into the deathpit.) Alistar's heal makes them both resistant to poke/harass, and calling in a gank is a bad idea due to all the CC - if their jungler pops up to help you're liable to end up killing one of them in exchange for them killing all three of you (probably end up killing Blitzcrank since he tends to be squishier without items.)
Singed and Blitzcrank is only slightly less absurd. Maybe. More damage, less LOLOLOL U CANT TAKE ACTIONS.
But since both of these insane combos mean your pansy little AD carry is off on their own in a lane, you absolutely MUST dominate your lane or you'll have problems later on. The entire point of insane borderline-cheating lane setups like this is to completely **** on the enemy carry and deny them kills, CS, and just make them rage. Since your own carry is going to be on their own, they'll have to play more defensively which means less CS for them as well. It's basically you're trading your carry's safety and farm in exchange for destroying the enemy team's carry.
Playing it more normal (Blitz+pansy carry) is still going to be more aggressive than weak girly-man carry and a bored heal-the-girly-man support because Blitzcrank is weak to harassment and offers far more opportunities for kills (essentially, if you are not hiding inside a wall of creeps with Flash ready, you can and probably will be killed.)
I haven't tried junglecrank. I've heard of it being possible but I just don't see it being a good idea. Your speed will be abominable before Wriggles/buffs, you have absolutely no sustain before Wriggles, and taking Rocket Grab instead of more Overdrive/Power Fist would slow you down even more (but you have to have Rocket Grab if you want to gank.) I can only imagine a Blitzcrank in the jungle would be very susceptible to counter-jungling (if they field a Shaco or Nunu you might as well just quit before the game even starts) and likely wouldn't be able to counter-jungle for jack either... well, I guess you could probably make Olaf cry, but so can Shaco and Nunu.
