Rabid Bite has a small hop-step in its animation, the movement may be interfering with the attack speed scaling.1. I'm pretty sure you'll still gain damage because of the AD buff and bonus damage, but you're still losing damage you shouldn't be losing..
2. Yea, I'm guessing it's because of that. But they should still be able to make it scale with attack speed.

How do you know you shouldn't be losing that damage?
Maybe the designer left that in there in order to balance out the auto-reset and tone down DPS Trundles who were building too much damage.
Looking at
Trundle as a champion, this sort of problem is not really a problem anyway.You shouldn't be building much attack speed in the first place because he's a tanky-dps anti-carry, it's not his forte to be focused on.
