I know what you mean, though there's a fine line of being verbose to make your guide look informative and keeping the play style part to a minimum. For example, some snippets from Hotshot's Nid guide -
"These are my two builds that I do when I play Nidalee. AP Nidalee should be used to dominate mid/late game and high armor value enemies. AD Nidalee should be used to dominate early/mid game and shred low armor targets in top lane."

Context to builds, why you'd build one over the other
"During the laning phase you should always prioritize last hits over harassment. A top Nidalee player finds the time to make room for both harassment and keeps up with last hits. Make sure your mana is never full and always top yourself off with Primal Surge/Swipe"
"DON'T USE Javelin Toss/Takedown in the early levels."
"To push the wave fast throw an auto attack on all the caster minions, then pounce swipe. Without auto attacks the minions will not be in kill range for pounce swipe."
"Notes: Press H to position Nidalee before she is about to jump over wall. If your pounce is on CD and you are being chased by the enemy, she will not turn around and try to auto attack."

Though it clearly lacked, it did have basic playing guidance of Nidalee, informing players when and when not to use different builds and skills. I could even go as far as to argue that the guide is as much as you really need to know for laning as Nid if it's not basic game knowledge.

It lacked, but it did have basic info. It would be another story, however, if it was just had (a) build(s) with absolutely no words whatsoever.

Yeah but having the best ox and cart and being able to figure out the rest- even if it means asking people along the way to find your destination, is better than having a **** ox and a **** cart and having the best map in the world, and the ox and cart fail at getting you there cause they're ****.

I lol'd. Awesome analogy, especially when the good ox and cart tell you a general direction of where to go.

I didn't +rep Toshabi cause I already do it enough.

I did +rep Duff though, cause his analogies are the awesomesauce.

Not anymore, it's like forever old.
He has a totally different build for her now.

I often wish I knew where random +Reps came from. That way I'd know what kind of posts people want to see more of. Most of the time you can figure it out, but sometimes it just comes out of nowhere.

^ THIS.

The build that pros use might be better than some other builds that are made by people like us but I still think it's more useful to actually have a guide instead of just the build and no explanation about the champion at all. I personally always check builds that pro players use on champions I own, I don't necessarily follow the builds from the top rated guides and am generally more interested in the guide itself anyway.
