Temzilla@Yes, yes it will.
The thing that makes a lot of MMO players go "THIS SUCKS! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! SO BORING
Is because they have never seen an mmo where the STORY is the main draw of the game.
I have several friends that have reached the max level of 50, but the "main story mission" are far from done, each class have 6 chapters of story, they are at max level AND ARE ONLY IN CHAPTER 4.
If it get boring? well, the quest are the same in, lets say, WoW. BUT there is an ACTUAL story to follow, the things you do, HAVE meaning and character behind it. The class stories in Old republic are very deep and personal.
Even if you dont care for the story, it is still forced on you trough cut scenes, and on the loading screens they actually tell you the story up until the point of which you are playing.
Getting bored of the game? it do the same as WoW, just 12x times better.

Newer mmorpgs (the big ones not those free rpg **** that pops up like weed) entertains you until max lvl but wont keep you entertained once you've seen all of it.
You know, that is the point of "constant game updates".
There is already a new patch for this game that are going live in January, it is filled whit new dungeons and hotfixes.

Thats what I meant when I said "after you've seen it all".
They can't/won't pounder in content updates like WoW, which also decreased to a 2-3 week of work for waiting 3-4 months up until now.
If SWTOR gonna success on this part? We'll see, but the thing is that there's normally no problem keeping the folks entertained while leveling/ first time on max lvl.
Really had this struggle in my head:
GW 2 vs. SWtor, but then a friend ended the discussion in my head by giving SW to me for christmas present ;)

I heard it gets boring quite fast, and that the PvP system at the moment is so bad it's hilarious (statements from IRL friends playing it)
Well, atm, the PvP system normalizes all your levels and equipment, but you don't have all your skills if you aren't high level.
It's similar to the system used by a lot of korean mmo's ironically.
I feel it's a really good system, makes it a lot more skill based instead of gear/level based.
And, I feel that the heavy emphasis on dialogue actually is a detriment to some MMO players.
