I actually like the text in the last one. If you lowered the opacity or changed the colour it'd blend better, if that's what you're looking for :)

So, I started making signatures a couple of days ago (literally my first one was a couple of days ago) and I just really really enjoy it. So I thought I would make a sort of progression thread for my signatures, I'll post all the signatures I make on this thread when I can and you can see as I improve/get worse.
I am totally open to criticism, as long as it does help me. I am not interested in "LOL SAMOH U SO BAD @ MAKE SIG 2DAI HUEHUEHUE #1" (let's see how long it takes for someone to post exactly that). I wont show my first 2 sigs unless asked, because they really are terrible, I didn't know the sizes, or how to do anything so... I'll also add a short explanation under each sig, as to why I made it, or how I found my inspiration, and how I think I did.
Finally I do intend to start making sigs for people, but only when I think I am good enough.
So with this one... This was the first sig I made that I liked, which was cool, and it was the third sig I made. My friend picked out the picture, and then I just came up with this. I was making a grungey background and then I inverted the colours and it looked pretty cool so I just used it. Basically as simple as that, and I think it's alright.
Yougan keeps asking everyone for wolf signatures, and I really like them so I decided to make one. It didn't really come out that well but I quite like it, I think it looks like a frosty window with cracks of ice stuck to it. Although I really don't like how the text came out at all (also the text just looks back, and that is definitely my weakest point, and something I need to work on). I think it's ok.
Out of the three, I think this is the worst. Once again the text isn't that nice imo. Also the colouring of the flower is pretty off, although I think it's a neat idea. Missmaw made some black and white animal sigs which I liked, and then I intended to make one. I actually looked up how to make a picture black and white on gimp (because the way I did it didn't look right, mega noob). And I came across a tutorial on Selective Colourization, so I did this instead. Once again, it's ok. But I think I can do better.
So this one I made using Bards tutorial bam. I actually quite like it, I didn't do the guide justice but I think it came out quite well. Everything apart from the text that is -.-. I am going to be downloading more fonts tonight, and practising with text! Thanks again bard for the tutorial.
So this one really isn't that good, I was about to go to bed but I found this picture and wanted to do one more, I did some smudging over the girl with this cool leaf like brush to get that effect on her, and that was about the only thing that might not be completely obvious. I do sorta like it (except the text, as always) it's not bad for me, for 10 minutes work. Anyway busy busy on friday with college, then on Saturday I will sit down for a few hours and try make my bestestest sig ev0r! xD [Updated] (I fixed the text to do what JhoiJhoi said, and it looks a bit better =) )
So I did a sig for Nighthawk as he requested, I think it came out fine ~ I like the smudging on Sasuke and the background I made. It didn't come out quite how I wanted, but I still am quite proud of it, (as it's probably the one with the most technical elements so far). As always, I am not pleased with the text, and thanks Lacorpse for the font :p
This is super simple, 4 layers. Softglow, brush, little smudge, text. But I like it I do.

I have also decided to have an archive sorta thing here, with all the tutorials I use, so other people who are also learning can get something from this thread, I'll also do this on Saturday, or late night Friday if I'm not in bed.
