Counter to set true damage is health and don't get hit. Easy as pie.

Ahri is one of the most balanced champions Riot have released in months imo.
She has a ton of escape/chasing ability from her ult, but it's balanced by the fact that her burst isn't all that amazing unless she's fed, and her Q and E being skillshots.
True damage's counter = There isn't one, this sucks...
Health. Or just dodge the damn orb.

Cho'Gath have much more scary true damage skills.

True damage has become more relavent due to the meta...But if you want tanky man to completely ruin the game then sure remove true damage. Nothing more needed than to have tanks that stack 200 armor+MR and become unkillable because no one is capable of dealing appropriate damage. I'll put it to you this way

"True Damage" isn't the issue, the issue is people who complain about every little thing because they can't compete with the mechanics, or make consistent errors which they are oblivious to. Watch a pro's stream, see them die and call BS? It's probabaly because they ****ed up and are too blind to see it. We all do it.
True damage is meant to give some hope to people when facing a durable team. The fact of the matter is more APs need true damage to help keep their damage competative late game. APs fall off as the game goes longer.
None of this was meant to offend, just offering an opinion take it for what you will.

Even her Fox Fire is a skill shot. They all have seperate ranges which means positioning yourself properly can effectively land all of them on one person...As well when maxed it has the highest base damage of all of her abilities. Something like 375 with 3 consecutive hits on one target.
Hide behind minions, it might seem like she's not focusing you, but she's just waiting for you to get within range of her
Charm.
If you're hit with charm she will use her Q and W, which can cost you some serious health especially if she's level 6 and has ignite. It's over if she goes charm>orb>fox fire>spirit rush>ignite.
