That is wrong, there are at last two more chars that have knock up as a major part of their skill set and that is Janna and Blitscrank.

And still i find it unfair to compare a item that can counter 3 different chars ulti (not sure if you just forgot Skarner?) and a item that would completely remove one/ two of the only viable supports from the game (depending if you see blitcrank as a support or not).

WW's ult, malz's ult, skarner's ult, fiddlestick's fear, udyr's stun, taric's stun, sion's stun, Veigar's stun, Blitz's silence, sona's ult, Galio's ult, etc. etc.
QSS makes all these champions near-useless, so I don't see why you guys QQ about the fact that granite shows could counter 4 or maybe 5 champ who relies on knock up. I find Granite Boots to be situational, yes, but also legit.
And let's admit it, most of LoL's item are situational, one more situational item wouln't cause me a problem IMO. >.>

The important distinction that you guys are forgetting, is that it's secretly a ****ty item, and it only counters pop ups.
You have literally invested an entire item slot into countering pop ups, and that item is boots.
You can't buy tabi, you can't buy treads, you can't but sorc, you can't buy berz, you can't buy any of the items that actually -do- something. I feel like the players who are claiming these would be OP just don't fully understand itemization and the way the game works, or potentially play at a level too low to be able to depend on their team mates.
As it stands right now, pop up comps are pretty effective. Cho top, Orianna mid, Malph jungle, etc. I think it's pretty annoying to get chain cc'd to death, ionno about you guys.
This would force opponents to mix up their comps a little bit, or simply recognize the counter exists.
You'd see balanced comps with a mix of pop ups and slows and stuns and whatnot, because if you counter the stuns and slows with treads, you're open to the pop up. If you counter the pop up, you're open to the slows and stuns.
This is a concept that would open up more balanced competitive play, which is what I always base my concepts around.

Yes it does. Have you ever been stunned with ZERO CCR? Holy ****, it sucks bro! You're not considering how boned you're gonna be by slows and the like. If you buy granite boots and a tenacity item, then you've invested two item slots into simply countering CC's. you now have 4 real items, that's it.
