I like this build! though i would like to make some changes to the "mid" build! i played maokai, my team blew so i trolled and picked "maokai" mid :D
This was my end build:
Force of Nature
Lich Bane
Rod of Ages
Rabadon's Deathcap
Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Guardian Angel
, i started Boots and Health Potionx3, later i went on Cataclyst the pretector and then Sheen, after that Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Rod of Ages, then Lich Bane, Rabadon's Deathcap - Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Guardian Angel, then i sold the boots and bought Sorcerer's Shoes, then late game i sold the boots and bought Force of Nature, note this was not ranked but my stats where 19-20-19, agaist Zyra and we had opponent Evelynn with 35-11-9 and we still won cause of my pro-fat-sappling-pushing like a maokai! was supposed to go jungle but my team were like "maokai sucks jungle >:C" and yes that's it :)

Incomplete items in all sections, try to work more on your jungle section. Maokai expect of mana he really needs movement so if you don't build Shurelya's Battlesong or a boot like Mobility Boots that gives you a lot of movement then you won't be able to catch your enemies most of the time. Try harder this is still incomplete. Thanks for your time.

Let me rephrase myself.



Most of her harass the first levels is completely free since Maokai is very weak pre ~3. An aggressive Irelia can completely wreck Maokai because of her mobility and how she can freely harass him with it. Maokai is very slow and is a melee champion so there is nothing that stops her from just going all-in level 3+. Her ultimate is just a bonus overall. You will NOT win a fight against her with Maokai if she makes a good ultimate against you. A good Irelia wont just stand on a distance to kill some creeps with her ultimate, she will kill you with it.

Her only "free" harass is her ult. It's the only thing she can fire at Maokai without him firing back.

If she wants to Q or E him, she's got to be within melee range which allows him to get a full combo off. Trading =/= harass.

How is Irelia's only main harass past 6?

Just wanted to say, I've been using this guide for a while now, and I can honestly say it's made me a better player. I LOVE Maokai solo top, and I won't jungle with anyone else. While cookie cutter buy-this-then-this guides are handy for beginners, this guide is perfect for someone looking to stretch their branches a little. Maokai works really well with situational builds, because he has to be ready to withstand the most immediate threat, which changes every game. P.S., totally dominated my last game, 7/3/10 vs Mundo top, even with a DC'd shaco during early game.
