Every bit of that is irrelevant because anybody younger or older than you can still use the same thing to increase their reaction time on this game.
Comparing different games is irrelevant because you don't have people playing Diablo against somebody playing DotA.
My brother is 28 and still annihilates people on WoW and Armored Core, for example. Age is also irrelevant.
I clearly want a game to be the least constraining possible.
If that is the way you think, why even play the game? If that is the way you think, just find something easier.

Hmmm
1)Even though smartcast in itself doesnt help this much (although I think a single press instead of 2 DOES help a bit), it's in what I consider the proper line of thought, namely accessibility.
2)Hmmmm yea ok, but you still compare LoL players stating some of them play the way that require skills, and some dont. I'm not exactly comparing the game, I'm asking why you draw such a comparison yourself, and it seems you agree with me that it doesnt make much sense.
3)How does a single anecdote makes an argument? Most players are NOT pro players, and a great player will still beat poor, younger players. So this anecdote you brought here doesnt change the fact that the more you have reflex-based stuff in your game, the less likely a person above 25 is going to win.
4)Mainly because it is the players make it difficult. I hardly find any point in having a complicated gaming system.
Now you're implying I enjoy easy stuff, which is entirely false. (and is rather insulting, considering it eventually leads to words such as "coward" or other shameful qualifiers I dont deserve) Less constraints = more possibilities for some very different people to be successful using very differend approaches.
You wrote several posts where you stated you like to try to "play stuff differently", think outside of the box or whathever. Well when I say I want less constraints, I basicaly want the same thing you do. The only difference is I dont want it in an elitist manner.
And I believe we should leave this argument here. I will thoroughly read your answer if you leave one, but I doubt we'll eventually agree. And I dont want to derail this thread further.
ON-TOPIC: YEAH SMARTCAST <3 :P

Seriously, this game is not even that difficult to begin with. I don't understand the concept of making the simple even more-so. The hardest part about this game is learning how all the other champions work against you...
I don't need smartcast to feel better about my mistakes; I fix them as I go.

The game doesn't get easier with smartcast! What it does is let you focus more on doing objectives than on simple game mechanisms. And smartcast is a mechanism available to all, if you choose to not use it, so be it. But don't try to say you are the better gamer for it.

I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

There are not even that many objectives... It really is not that complex.

Building items and using runes and masteries also make the game easier, so I guess let's not do that either.
You may choose not to build items while I choose not to use smartcast. Nice way to use something completely unrelated. /facepalm...
Maybe there should be a 'no item' tournament just to see the difference. Champions still have their skill-sets and base damage. Items just create bigger numbers, not bigger ratios.

Simple game mechanisms, something we already have.
Objectives (in no particular order): Take towers. Push lanes. Defend base. Kill champions (highest threat first). Pay attention to blue/red camps. Pay attention to dragon/baron. Destroy Nexus.

I suppose I can explain my reasoning best by saying that I prefer playing a way that takes skill. Hovering your mouse over somebody and spamming all your skills hardly seems like skill to me.
This is highly pedantic... What you call "skill" is only caused by legacy design constraints (read Warcraft constraints). Is a Diablo2 PvPer "less skilled" than a DotA player just because the game is better designed?
If I could use a champion's ability merely using my mind, I would. And the reason I would is the same reason why I dont play the "quick-click" flash games my stepchild plays.
Beside, such reflexes fall with aging, to a point you have to retire from most professionnal video gaming by the age of 25, and I'm generous. It's often more like 21-23. To be honnest, getting beaten by someone you would have easily outplayed using strategy, but who turned the tables because of his age can be pretty frustrating (ok dont compare to 70 y-o people, someone who is 30 is likely to play the game and WILL get beaten by a kid with equal talent just because of speed. Man, 30 is supposed to be young...)
Now, I'm lucky I play this game while I'm still 21, but I clearly want a game to be the least constraining possible. Once again, it'd be like saying playing football with cleats is lame. Yeeeaaaa, it would be harder, but how would it be more interesting?
