Hey guys!

To keep it short, I need to have my Synopsis for my English exam ready for tomorrow, in other words; 29 hours from now.

My main subject, which I chose rather loosely, is Guy Fawkes. Now to this I have two things I would like help with, one of which I have gone to 4chan with, out of desperation of some knowledge.
    1. (Most important) I need to find some sort of angle of effect that Guy Fawkes has had on the English society/community/state/whatsoever - The English exam is not to tell about what happened on the 5th of November, but to explain how what happened has effected the world(Or actually any English-speaking country) afterwards. I need an angle! I'm pretty refreshed on what happened, and I can make a short summary of that if you guys wish, just request it, if you don't know anything about it.

    2. (Less important - this is the one I went to 4chan for) I'm trying to find a connection between Guy Fawkes and the hacker group Anonymous, however so far, all I have gotten out of it is the movie called "V for Vandetta", which is apparantly the main source of inspiration for Anonymous, whereas they took the concept that "The government should be afraid of it's people" and made it their own.
What I can't make sense in, is that Anonymous stands by the words: "Remember, remember, the 5th of November", which is the date of which the English pairlament should have been blown up, and also the date of which Guy Fawkes was captured while guarding the explosive Gunpowder. If Anonymous has the inspiration from the film, why do they cling on to the 5th of November?

I hope you guys can understand that I am going to you for a last resort, as I am really clueless as to what sort of main question I can use for my exam (whereas I will also need sub-questions - these of which I would want to draw in Anonymous, if there is any reason to do so), and also whether Anonymous actually has a particular reason for using the Guy Fawkes mask, other than the movie "V for Vandetta"...

Thanks in advance for any insightfull ideas for question number one, and for any firm answer in terms of Anonymous' connection to the 5th of November.

Kirluu~

I don't have the exam tomorrow; The Synopsis for the exam is due tomorow. I need to do tons of research about Guy Fawkes, and none the less try to find seemingly reliable sources - Wikipedia obviously is not allowed - fml.

I have however come up with a main question:
What effect would it have on England, if the Gunpowder Plot had succeeded with their intensions to blow up the English parliament?

Now I need sub-questions for this question.

After that I need to make a Summary of the problem / effect I am going to discuss, and then put a conclusion which answers my main question and sub-questions.

Tough cookie to crack in one day, I agree, but not impossible.

-

TL;DR: Come up with sub-questions for my main question in cursive above, please :S
It will take me an age. I need a good 5-6 sub-questions...

Would a modern Gunpowder-plot be possible/reasonable.

^mabe?^

Keep in mind i don't know anything about the current public opinion of the english government, nor am i 100% familiar with the guy-fawkes incident.

Anonymous hide behind Guy Fawkes masks because they become "the crowd" when they wear it. The point behind it was that when everyone is the same, when everyone does the same thing, no one can be told apart, they become anonymous.

They say "remember remember the 5th of November" as a reminder of what *could* have been. What *would* have happened if he had succeeded. He also lasted a whole week of torture until he broke.

If he had succeeded, it would have demolished order.

Sub questions:
- would the princess have actually ascended the throne? Would she be a puppet?

To be honest, I don't think this is a very good topic :P

Hi. I studied English in college.

Pick a better topic.

......

If you're dead set on using that topic, I'll give you a hint: See Symbolism.

Symbolism in terms of what exactly? o.o

And yeah: You're a bit late on the whole "pick another subject" thingy. It's kind of too late by now ^^

Symbolism is exactly what guy fawkes is. By using the masks from V for Vendetta, he made a recognizable symbol for a belief that others can show they're apart of by having that symbol be represented on their respective person, in this case, wearing the mask. The key concept behind his belief is that they are anonymous. The opposition of anonymous doesn't have a real face of who they're against, thus inciting the fear of 'the people around you might be the very same people against you'. In order to keep this fear consistent, the people of anonymous wear the mask, showing a body count of the army of anonymous rather than the faces that make up the group. This shows that the unit all think according to a hive mind. Anonymous is many represented by one, and that one is everyone. By doing so, members of anonymous can't be singled out and targeted based on recognizable facial features because of the mask (aka the protector), allowing for its members to have no fear when they protest an issue that bothers the group as a whole.

Woops! I said I wasn't going to help you and yet, I gave you info. Oh well, since I typed it out, I'm not going to bother deleting it.
