Thanks to jhoijhoi, albableat, Arcana3, GMD and I for the awesome sigs! im a zombie
Well, the text doesn't fit the sig IMO, it's also too large (the text) and detracts from Xerath. I'd recommend (if your work is going to remain typographical in focus) that you expand your font library and look up some tutorials. Deviant Art has some awesome signature tutorials, and most of them are relatively easy to understand.
I've only been doing forum tags for ~1 year and been involved in graphic design for ~3ish. But my perspective has changed considerably, we all start somewhere, so with that in mind you should start experimenting more. Slapping text over a render/stock should get you to understand some basic compositional techniques, but it shouldn't be the ONLY thing you do. Understanding that text is more of a secondary feature in a forum tag (secondary meaning if I had to choose between making a sig WITH text but it would detract from the overall grade of the piece, or without, I'd go without). That said, text is often one of the more difficult things to get right. Thusly, increasing the number of fonts to choose from, as well as experimenting with positioning/size/kerning/etc. will allow you to create a better polished piece in the end.
I want you to take this post as encouragement, not degradation. WE ALL have to start somewhere, to be honest my first batch of sigs sucked more **** than a coke ***** looking for her next score. I'm happy to see so many people coming to the sig forums and want to see more. Keep it up.
