That's an incredible generalization and you should know that it's not true before you even type it.

I do have to say though that everyone has the right to their own opinion, I'm not upset with Canoas or find his statements invalid. I like what I do, that doesn't mean everyone has to as well.

He's saying **** that's obviously incorrect. It's not even an opinion anymore, he's taken it to the realm of factualt statement, and he's wrong. Roleplay and D&D aren't the same thing. It's like saying all rectangles are squares. It just isn't true.
A person might roleplay when they play D&D, but they do not necessarily play D&D when they roleplay.
Ignorant. I'm not going to argue with you though, you are currently, and have always been a gigantic waste of time Canoas.

I never said roleplay and D&D were the same thing, I said that if you're looking for quality roleplay you should try D&D instead of forums.
It's a bit ironic for you to make such accusations when you're the one who misread what I said and proceeded to waste both my time and yours.

Since D&D 4ED came out I'd pretty much rather play anything else...just sayin'.
Pathfinder RPG (basically 3.5 D&D, but with all the weirdness fixed) is my personal favorite atm.

This is actually very true. DnD is pretty quick to kill off people who have absolutely no imagination or improvisational skills. It makes RP fun when you have a good DM (and yes, path finder is one of my favorites as well as iron kingdoms).
I love how Canoas sets his statements in such a way that makes people who finish reading posts half way through react in a nature that's outlandish and idiotic, only to have Canoas smugly point out just how ******ed they were to jumping to such conclusions. I hope I'm not fanboying, it's just that I find his approach to arguments to be insanely amusing and very well done.

This build is Platinum approved, Thats all you need to know
I never even meant for this forum to turn into an argument, I could care less what people's opinions are and if they conflict with my own. However this reminds me of my time back in middle school where I would paper roleplay with some people I used to know in an hour session before school. If I had to I would give up anything to be a part of one of those again, without any judgement or hate and in the end just have fun.
I do still have fun writing up stories with other people in the writing forums, I'm not saying that it is less fun, but Tosahbi is right. It was those improvisation and artistic sketches of mystical worlds and items that would be constantly changed by eraser marks and led sheddings. I have never been part of a DnD group myself though even though I've dreamed of getting the friends together to do it, even online I've had trouble figuring out just how to use it.
Canoas and Dufftime, I'm not looking to make enemies but this seems like an argument that spans outside of this thread. I respect both of you for upholding these opinions of yours though, each of you has a different idea and that is completely awesome.
Still how about this is a thread for Roleplaying in general, rather than just online RP forums. I admit I have LARPed before and that was insanely fun and nerdy at the same time, each person has at least some fun with Roleplaying if they give it a try.
