Dunno as mellee with only melee guys it was pretty hard it took us 1:30 to clear it. That double boss.
With some Range champs that don't die in the general AoE it might get a bit fast. Also we all noticed we should have taken the utility skills after that XD.
We will see if we can own the 35 one today.

I'm a thief and so far I've been butchering everything. Though your story may be harder than mine.

Also the crafthing is pretty neat for what I done up to now. It really feels rewarding and you get usfull stuff early on, **** OP XD, and what I saw up to know it can keep up with the other stuff at least from the stats.

You can make pretty good stuff with the crafting. I'm a jewelcrafter and all the rings/accessories/necklaces I'm using were made by me as I can't find any better. I assume it's the same thing with other professions.
The coolest thing about the crafting system is that it's not so simple WoW's. In WoW all you have to do is choose which weapon/armor/etc to craft and it'll craft as long as you have the mats. Here you have the basic parts of an item like a sword hilt, the blade and the haft are separate items and you have to figure out the combinations yourself.

Unfortunately the server is down so here's a very straightforward guide on the basic class/profession/skills mechanics.

Professions & Skills:
=====================
Professions are the classes. You have 8 different classes, and what they "do" is pretty straightforward.
Necromancer - Undead minions, magic traps, life steal, etc.
Mesmer - Makes illusions and clones, manipulate enemies and fields.
Elementalist - Uses fire, water, earth and air elements.
Thief - Stealth, deceptions, venoms.
Hunter - Basic hunter, has a pet and spirits.
Engineer - Grenades, turrets, elixirs, gadgets.
Guardian - Protective and defensive magic.
Warrior - Mostly physical damage.
Each class has several weapons, with the exception of engineer which only has ranged weapons they can all change between melee and ranged.

Each class has 5 types of skills: Class, Weapon, Heal, Utility and Elite.

There are 5 weapon skills, 1-5, and they change according to your weapon, the 1st 2 skills are from the main hand, the middle one is a combination from the main hand and offhand and the last two are from the offhand. Obviously a two handed weapon uses all 5 skill slots.
The class skills use the F1-F4, some have all 4, some have only 1. As far as I know no class can change these. These are special abilities that vary according to the class.
The heal is pretty simple, it heals. You can "buy" other heals with skill points if you want.
The Slot skills are skills you unlock with skill points at certain levels. There are 3 slots and 30 skills to choose from. you get the skill points by completing challenges and levelling.
The elite skill is your strongest skill that you unlock at level 30, it depends on both race and class and the deluxe edition has one as well, and there's about 6 to choose from.

Each class also has 5 trait trees, like masteries, which you unlock at level 10.

You can check each classes' skill types at http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skill#Skill_types

Crafting System:
=====================
The crafting system is a bit complicated at first. Unlike WoW's where you just create the item you want, in GW2 you learn how to create each part of the item at certain levels and you need to combine them to create the item you want.
For example, a jeweler will need to create the band of a ring, the setting to place the gem and combine both with a gem to create a ring. A weaponsmith will need to create the haft, the hilt and the blade and combine all of them with an inscription in order to create a sword.
When you combine all of the "ingredients" for an item you'll learn it's recipe, which give quite a bit of xp. Using weaponsmith as an example, there are 6 different inscriptions that give stats to the items I create, so I can make 6 different copper swords, one with each inscription. By doing this I will learn 6 different recipes. Then, I'll make 6 different axes or 6 daggers and so on in order to level. Learning new recipes gives you considerably more xp than to just use a recipe you already know, so you should to try to max out the discoveries you make.

To gather the materials you need gathering tools (axe, pick and sickle) and salvage kits. You can gather any material you want regardless of your crafting profession, and I advise you to always gather everything you can as it gives you XP and you'll most likely need it for yourself or other characters. You can also salvage equipments to get some materials out of it using a salvage kit, which I always advise you to do as well.

You should check out http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/guild_wars_2_beginner_guide/ and follow a crafting profession guide because it's easier to understand how each profession works and make sure you don't waste materials. After the first 50-75 levels you should already understand the system better and there's no need for a guide any more.

Order:
=====================
At level 26, as you play your story, you'll be asked to join one of the 3 orders. I don't know much about it, but at some point you'll be able to use the order's armour.

A few qs:

Where do you go to start your crafting profession?

Also, is there a way you can swap items from one character to another (in your account)? If so, how? Bank?

You learn it on a main city. Remember that the profession you have doesn't affect the mats you gather so there's no problem with only getting a profession later on in the game.

You have a special bank tab for the materials. There's a cogwheel in your inventory and when you click it there's an option to send all the materials to the materials tab. You don't need to visit the bank to do so.

Ok, I'll add you when the server's back online.

Your bank can be accessed by any character on your account. You can transfer money too.

You need to log in before commenting.
