If you are making an inhouse for European servers, you should write it using the European date format, just sayin'. I'm guessing Nighthawk just forgot and he can't edit the thread title.
GMD tells me frequently when we're disagreeing that since I am both a woman and American I'm going to be wrong, and since he's male and European he's going to be right... but that's just GMD. :P I also told him I was arguing with Canoas once and he said "he's probably right", "why?", "because he's male and European and you're female and American."

I can neither confirm nor deny that.

compleetly standing by such argument. Obviously, i won't say how biased i am.
Since it happens in Skype probably not. ;P Besides, it's funny!

Can we report him for being a sexist and "racist" ***?
There is no definition of 'being an ***' other than the animal and a part of the (human) body.
EDIT: I'm not being racist since neither 'Americans' nor 'Europeans' are a race. Also, one is only discriminating if one treats others different based on characteristics which are irrelevant to the situation. Since you don't know the subject of the skype conversation, you don't know if her being female and American is irrelevant so you cannot judge this.

Why does every European (or almost every European)
1st think they're always right
2nd give a **** as to how the US measures time?
A bit arbitrary if you ask me. It's like comparing 2 different roasts of coffee. They both taste just about the same, but you just gotta mention how you like your own style more.
I don't think it has anything to do with logic, we just want to be different. Who cares?
However I will concede the metric is infinitely easier to use, everything is so nice and neat.
Long story short: We are always right! :P
Nah but for real, I don't think all Europeans assume they are right; that seems to be a rather prejudiced way of viewing it. European ways are, or assumed to be, better or more sophisticated than American ways simply because Europeans had more time to use it. America, as we know it, truly started to exist in 1492 when it was discovered by Europeans. From that moment on, it went through the same changes as Europe did but on it's own time schedule; which is the reason you do not use the metric system but the imperial system.
Ordering dates is of a different matter, of course. I basically agree on you that it comes down to what you really like. "September 21st" matches with 09/21 while "21st of September" matches 21/09. The reason why most people use the 'European' format is close to what Pølsê said. Matching our numeric system, the dates should be ordered like: YYYY-MM-DD. This also allows computers to sort dates with normal sorting algorithms based on the ASCII format. However, since the year is usually not that important; Europeans decided to reverse the format and the Americans decided to simply shift the year all the way to the back.
tl;dr: We both aren't using the most logical way of ordering dates imo; neither is better than the other and it comes down to personal preference as long as Europeans will remember that we only have 12 months! :P
P.S. You don't know all Europeans and you don't know almost every European! Besides, you cannot even speak of "The European" since Europe consists of 50 countries!
P.P.S. I'll, as usual, shoutcast the inhouses. Perhaps also participate.
