It works through
Zhonya's Hourglass too which is an infinitely better item for Karthus.

guys just let me clear this...this thread is about champs PASSIVES w/items combos and not generally suitable items for champs..its about how some items work exclusively with champs passives and if is good to rush get these items first at mid lvl...with some champs i played i found that getting these items really work well at mid lvls such as Jax + Rageblade (believe me this is CRAZY combo at 9 lvl and this is the way i build Jax) and Xerath + Hourglass gives so plenty AP+armor plus i found very usefull the active on Xerath especially when you are on Locus...Fiddlesticks is another example that the Abyssal Scepter really boosts his passive...and of course Garen + Force of Nature makes him a regenerating beast at mid lvl...
Okay, speaking exclusively about the champion's passives:
Jax's passive de-values building AS on him, because you get it for free. Xerath's passive devalues building armor on him, because you get it for free. Garen's passive requires a combination of HP and resistances to be terribly effective, and even then outside of laning phase it's generally more useful to just press B to regenerate lots of HP than to sit around waiting for your passive to do it.
Abyssal Scepter is a good item on Fiddlesticks, but the primary reason is not his passive.

nasus is great with spirit visage. it's not a part of his core build, but it's a fantastic item for him on paper. Sadly, every single penny nasus gets has to be thrown at triforce and gp10. but 2gp10, sheen, SV. i've heard of worse builds.
Also, Karma and rabadons deathcap. lower health = ap = more ap!

lol it's a toggle ability so it doesn't stack tear, far as I know anyways.
As far as I know
Glacial Storm is the only toggle that applies Tear, Lichbane etc.

"drop toggles" will stack as they count as 2 spellcasts. One for the drop, one for the deactivation. If you deactivate it anyway. You won't get stacks if you're silenced/other CC to stop

TBH, I'm surprised that Mr. Plat didn't know that toggles didn't stack tear. I mean, it seems like it would according to it's wording but, it's still good to know your facts. :3

Only champs that are remotely good to build the items on are fiddle and nasus.
Fiddlesticks cuz it's just gud and Nasus as a counter to Yorick and Rumble(and to some extent kennen)
