Guide: Sona - The Marvelous Musician

First off, let me say that your guide has solidified my choice in

Onward to the review!:
- Build: Personally I'd put
Locket of the Iron Solari as core over
Randuin's Omen. A bruiser will typically build it, and locket is a better support pick, imo. I could be wrong, but that's my preference. Otherwise everything's correct to me.
- Runes: Perfect. Exactly what I ran on
Sona previously. Although I run mana regen glyphs over magic resist because I spam a lot. Maybe add those in as optional? :p
- Masteries: This was my one major gripe. I felt so squishy doing 0/9/21. I play
Sona super aggressively, and prefer a 1/16/14 setup. I still have the bonus early gold, but i also have
Indomitable and
Initiator which I find to be way better than the last tiers of utility. I gave first blood when warding because I was too slow and took too much damage trying to get away from their level 2 gank. D: I suggest adding an "Aggressive" mastery setup.
- Summoner Spells: I'd take
Cleanse out of the optionals, because it only effects you and have no utility for the team or your carry. Otherwise all good choices.
- Ability explanation: This section is very well detailed and informative, however, I suggest you space it out a bit between each skill. It gets a bit "wall-o-texty" because everythings right next to each other.
- Maxing W over Q: Personally, I max Q. Leveling up the heal never seems to help much (For me). While the massive chunk of damage Q does with
Power Chord is always worth it to me. But again, that just comes down to my playstyle. I play
Sona kind of like
Taric, if that makes sense. But of course I was with
Graves who gets armor passively anyway. if I'd been with
Vayne or something, probably woulda maxed W.
- Items: Awesome selection and a lot of options. Thank you, so much for telling people to stop doing
Mejai's Soulstealer and
Lich Bane on
Sona. >:D (Though I have done this at mid lane! But that isn't what the guides about.)
- Laning Partners: You mention lack of experiance playing with
Graves and
Draven. Luckily, I played with
Graves and can provide some insight, and I main
Draven and
Sona is one of my preferred supports with him. Both of them benefit much more from maxing your Q, they want more damage, and have pretty good sustain by default. ( Graves has bonus armor, and [[Draven is OP with lifesteal.)
Graves can be a bit of a poke lane, and the movement boost from E helps him out a lot because he's slow and has a low range.
Draven prefers a support to actively DPS with him, so if you see him chasing, help him out with some DPS, which
Sona is one of the better supports to do that. Just watch his axes carefully, if he's harassing, and not going all in, he will lead the axes backwards. My
Draven guide has a section detailing the two working together if you wanna use it as a reference.
- Enemy supports: You definitely need to add more in here. I laned against
Taric and since I'm still slightly new to
Sona I had to improvise how to deal with him. Luckily every time he
Dazzle'd me, I had just got done poking a fourth of
Ezreals health and he was too busy running to follow up. I like to play ZONE-A, (Get it? huehue) and maybe it would be worthwhile to add a tid-bit about zoning with
Sona, as she is one of the best zoning supports out there.
- Gameplay: Pretty wall-o-texty. I managed to get through it, no major problems I see. But man does that hurt my eyes. o.o Just some line dividers would help divide that up enough to not kill my eyes with text. :p
TL;DR: A funny fun guide to follow, and a great effort. I'd reccomend this guide to any aspiring musicians (Sona players) and it gets the OTGBionicArm seal of approval. It's a bit overloaded with text, but that's something that can be fixed and doesn't affect the viability of the information. Again, I'm crediting this guide with helping definitively choose
Sona as one of my main supports, so thank you very much for that!
My verdict: 8/10, up-voted and +rep!

Summoner Spells: Would there be any other viable choices for her?
Ability Explanation: Will do so.
Maxing Q or W: I'm planning to add more info about this in the future as a separate chapter. Decided to name the chapter a TL;DR version of the full one.
Items: I hate seeing

Laning Partners: Thank you for the insight on these two champions. I recall laning with

Other Supports: Like I mentioned, I hardly run into supports and lack a lot of experience against them. But I got to talk with a more experienced friend of mine and gave me some insight on the other common supports so it has more info right now. Which is a little late, lol. (And I surprisingly got that, lol)
Gameplay: Still working on fixing this chapter. And sorry about hurting your eyes. =S

First off, let me say that your guide has solidified my choice in [[Sona]] as my second main support. She's so versatile and fun to play. Plus, ARCADE [[Sona]]. <3 The game I played using your guide did not start out well, a few reasons I will point out as I go, so bare with me. But me and my carry [[Graves]] came around, we and [[rengar]] obliterated most of their team single-handed. I ended the game 2-2-8. [[Sona]] can 1v1 a fed [[ezreal]], huehuehuehuehue.
I'm glad the guide has solidified your choice in [[Sona]] as one of your main supports. =) It's nice to see more players picking her up and doing good with her. And yes, Arcade [[Sona]] is godlike.
Build: The main reason why I don't have [[Locket of the Iron Solari]] as a core, is because supports are generally underleveled. And that the shield gets relatively weak later on since it scales on your level. If the bruiser/tank does take [[Randuin's Omen]], then I'll always build a [[Locket of the Iron Solari]] instead.
Runes: Haven't run this specific rune before, but I'll place it in as an optional.
Masteries: I hardly go super aggressive as [[Sona]] since I know that she's pretty squishy. So I guess the 0/21/9 was the aggressive choice. But I suppose it's not really optimal in most cases. I'm guessing you mean the 1/15/14 setup? I haven't run those before, but I'll add it in since I've heard about it before.
Summoner Spells: Would there be any other viable choices for her?
Ability Explanation: Will do so.
Maxing Q or W: I'm planning to add more info about this in the future as a separate chapter. Decided to name the chapter a TL;DR version of the full one.
Items: I hate seeing [[Sona]]'s building [[Mejai's Soulstealer]] as well. Whenever I see that player build it on a support, I always make it my mission to make him regret that decision. And I have plans about adding a chapter about AP and AD [[Sona]] in the future, which I mentioned in the opening chapter. It's still in the works since I hardly get to play her outside the support role since people always want mid/top/carry.
Laning Partners: Thank you for the insight on these two champions. I recall laning with [[Graves]] in a ranked game, but I was so focused on not dying to the other team that I wasn't really paying attention to our synergy together.
Other Supports: Like I mentioned, I hardly run into supports and lack a lot of experience against them. But I got to talk with a more experienced friend of mine and gave me some insight on the other common supports so it has more info right now. Which is a little late, lol. Let's get started with my first official review! The game I played as

Note;

Onward to the guide itself!:
- Build: Your standard build brings me back to the good old days when
Warmog's Armor and
Atma's Impaler where ALWAYS built on bruiser. I didn't get a chance to use the actual cheat sheet. (I only got to
Wriggle's Lantern,
Glacial Shroud and
Phage.) And on that note you have a very good optional items section.
- Masteries: Awesome for damage oriented
Wukong, but I can't help but notice you don't include an alternative setup using 9/21/0. You mention multiple bulkier or almost tank builds, but no masteries for them. Maybe you could add some?
- Runes: Great setup, my only gripe is the lack of
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed. I felt sooooo slow. But I'd probably have failed hard at last hitting without your rune set up. Maybe add some optional runes?
- Summoner Spells: I definitely agree with your choice of
Ignite and
Ghost. It made up for my frustrations of not having the swiftness quints and secured me 3 kills on
Kha'Zix before he made it to his turret.
- Skill order: back when I was new to the game I played
Wukong and I somehow always maxed
Crushing Blow because I didn't know any better. Thank you for showing me that maxing
Nimbus Strike first is far better, and it definitely went far in my duels.
- Top Lane Objective: I feel like it's not a very good idea to tell people that your objective at top is to "take the enemy turret". Especially with a champion who scales so well with farming, like
Wukong. Taking the turret early means its harder for you to find creeps, but then, you van roam and hopefully get kills. I don't know, it's something to consider mentioning.
- Match-Ups: They are very, very, detailed. I'm sure if I had the privilage of fighting someone who was on the list, (Obviously,
Kha'Zix is brand new) I'd have just as easily won my lane following your tips.
- Team Fight synergy: This section is awesome, and demonstrates exactly how deadly
Wukong can be with other team mates. Sadly I could not abuse this as my mid laner was
Heimerdinger.
TL;DR: An amazing guide, and the bestWukong guide around. I would recommend this guide to newer and veteran players alike. Following the guide reminded me how much i used to love playing
Wukong when I began playing League of Legends. It's also a very visually appealing guide, and very in-depth, a lot of work has been put in to it, and you deserve every bit of recognition you get.
My verdict: 9.5/10
To respond to your review:

- I guess I can add a 9/21/0 Mastery set-up. To be honest I never play MonkeyTank so I never even think of running that mastery set but since it is in my guide and people probably use it I will add the additional mastery set.
- I recently bought all 3
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed so I have not included them in my guide yet. I use them as my primary Quints now so I will probably be changing them soon. I have a lot to alter in that guide yet. I still take
Ghost though.
- I believe I tell people to farm AND take the tower but I could be mistaken I will look at it. The thing about
Wukong is that he can be a very good roamer so taking your tower down early is not a bad thing.
Kha'Zix needs to be added along with some others so that section needs to be updated with the stupid amount of released top champions.
- Thank you for your review and rating! I will get on the fixes soon as I am also currently re-constructing my
Fiora guide.
Let's get started with my first official review! The game I played as [[wukong]] following your guide sadly resulted in a loss. I went 3/0 in lane against [[Kha'zix]] (Who wasn't in the matchups, I had to improvise.), but the enemy [[Kog'maw]], [[Nocturn]] and [[Katarina]] got hardcore fed elsewhere. I could not even attempt to carry my team and the game was a surrender at 20, and I ended 3/3/0. But since the guide is about solo top [[Wukong]] I believe I succeeded to grasp following your guide.
Note; [[Kha'zix]] is a super easy matchup for [[Wukong]]. I had him so behind he started building GP/10.
