I don't plan on building it early anymore, that's for sure. Maybe as a 3rd item or later on burst casters.
Not only does the CDR nerf hurt its overall cost-effectiveness, but the hit to base damage is just brutal.... :/

I agree. Now it's a **** item. Just because it's necessary for burst casters late game doesn't mean it's not ****. Morello wanted it removed entirely because the mechanic is toxic, this is as close as he got.
This was obviously not a tweak, this was smashing the item out of the meta as far as they could. I wish they just replaced it with something less toxic if that was the problem.

I think it'll make Grail more standard for CDR, or a Codex at least?
Was talking to Khazem about it a bit, and said that Evil Tome is still an iffy item, but Grail is prety good. Removing DFG jsut makes it the next bext thing for an early item.

Grail already is on most champions who use it, which include champs like
