There is proof of global warming. The earth goes through cycles of hot and cold. The last cold spot resulted in an ice age. This hot spot is just like the one that occurred thousands and thousands of years ago. Eventually a cold spot will come around again, and depending on the severity, it may cause another ice age.... of course a true Christian wouldn't be able to believe this theory, as they only believe the earth is a few thousand years old.
How does a condom protect against sexually transmitted diseases?
A condom acts as a barrier or wall to keep blood, or semen, or vaginal fluids from passing from one person to the other during intercourse. These fluids can harbor germs such as HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). If no condom is used, the germs can pass from the infected partner to the uninfected partner.
Condoms reduce the chance of contracting AIDS. And that chance is not only 1 in a million.

No proof of global warming? lol.. are you serious? There's soooo much easily accessible information about it and so much awareness going on that I'm baffled it still hasn't reach you. Though it's nice of you to provide evidence that religion is harmful and an actual example.. of yourself.
Yes, religion is belief in a god that isn't tangible, but also that the intangible god has or had an effect on our world. There is no proof of any act by God, so if a god does exist then it has never interfered with the physical realm which means your religion is completely made up.
The bible is written to be interpreted and teach moral lessons? Hmm..
Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
Moral lesson: You must murder each and every homosexual
Leviticus 25:44-46 - "However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way."
Moral lesson: Slavery is OK
Deuteronomy 13:13-19 - "Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God."
Moral lesson: If a person doesn't believe in god then his whole town must be sacrificed to appease God
Deuteronomy 20:10-14 - "As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you."
Moral lesson: Give a town the chance to become slaves, if they don't then you must kill the men but you're free to rape the women and enslave the children
Do you want more "morals" from the bible? I can easily provide them.
It may be hard to find complete factual records of that time, depending on the subject, but the events in the bible are so massive we would easily find evidence for it. Examples: there's no record of anything as massive as every single first-born in Egypt, both human and animal, dying; there's no evidence for a global flood, and there would have been plenty of evidence if such a catastrophe happened; there is absolutely no record of the Census of Quirinius; there is no evidence to support that god created the earth 6000 years ago; there is no evidence that god created humans and animals.
I never brought up the word "truth", but what you said still doesn't make any sense.
So you're acknowledging there's no reason for you to be a christian instead of a muslim or a jew or any other religion.. Hmm.. how interesting.
Yes, according to some random guy who wrote the bible whoever believes in him shall have eternal life. So if I write a book that says if you worship my cat you'll have eternal life you'll start offering him fish? How curious. I didn't think it would be so easy to convert you.
He likes his fish boiled btw.
Condoms don't prevent HIV? Are you serious? Again? It's amazing how much ******** you can come up with xD you're the perfect example I wanted to show dillbutt and the gay rights promoter christian dude. Anti-progress and pro-death, I'm sure your god is proud.

That's true but that's not what is important.. the important part is the cause of the current global warming. It used to take thousands of years not just a few dozen. Here's a funny little graphic to represent how ****ed up the world is becomming.

Also, a good condom when correctly used has 100% chance of preventing pregnancy and the contraction of any disease.
^I put it in the simplest and easiest terms to understand, so people didn't get confused; it's pretty irrefutable to say, "Earth goes through cycles of hot and cold periods", but something like, "Humans have contributed over 100% to global warming via mainly carbon dioxide emissions" can be refuted and is often disregarded.

^ a graph on Glacier size when combined to the use of hydrocarbons
^ artic surface temperature increases shown in correlation with increases in Solar activity
^ US surface temperature of the past century. To think, just 20 years ago people were worried about global cooling. Next doomsday scenario pls.
^ average number of annual tornadoes in the US has been slightly decreasing, not increasing
^ a graph showing that there is no noticeable increase or decrease in the number of hurricanes reaching land fall, in fact it's been fairly steady for the past 100 years
^ a graph showing that there is no noticeable increase in the severity of Hurricanes in the past century
a graph showing the increase in sea level as a gradual increase rather than an accelerating one that probably has little to do with hydrocarbon uses as this trend began in 1850.
^ methane level. Methane is the number one greenhouse gas in our atmosphere, ironically 97% of all methane in the atmosphere comes from Cows not humans
^ Co2 increases could be attributed to, as the graph states, the increase of forests within the United States by nearly 40%.
^ somewhat global warming related, but more economics. This graph examines the cost of solar and wind energy compared to that of nuclear, coal, and gas.

Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!
post got to long so I have to double post
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2217286/Global-warming-stopped-16-years-ago-reveals-Met-Office-report-quietly-released--chart-prove-it.html - original source
http://opinion.financialpost.com/2011/08/26/lawrence-solomon-science-now-settled/ - another good source to debunk global warming
I would suggest that there is much less evidence to support man-made global warming than there is against it. I think my graphs back it up as do the sources. A lot of the material from OISM is done by geophysicists, climatologists, botanists, oceanographers, etc.
and finally to Jhoijhoi and Canoas, the Earth is warming sure, but no one can prove it is the result of human activity. I'm going to pull a canoas here and say I will not believe in Global Warming until I have absolutely deffinitive proof that Humans are the only and single source of global warming. Until I have facts I will not believe it (which I already don't).

I never said it was a result in human activity, only. I said the earth goes through periods of cold and hot cycles, which this graph supports:

I do believe humans have contributed though. Also, methane isn't the highest, it's the second highest. The highest is carbon dioxide. You said it's attributed to lack of rainforest (CO2) and cows (methane). Who do you think cut down the trees? Who do you think increased the population of cows on the planet?

No, there's just no proof there is a god and there's plenty of evidence that the bible is almost entirely fiction. And even as a fiction book it's really poorly written, specially the extreme lack of continuity, which makes it very hard for me to believe it is true.
If you had any logical sense you would have found out the truth by now. But hey, why don't you answer the question I asked Mikuroo as well? Why not Islam? Why not Hinduism? Why not Buddhism? Better yet, try to convert me using logical arguments. Show me why there is a god and I'll worship him. I have no problem with worshipping gods as long as they exist.
There's no proof global warming exists, there's no proof Bigfoot exists, there's no proof that one system of government is more effective than another, and yet people still believe in these things. Religion is an institution of faith not of proof. People follow a religion because they believe in the message. The entire point of religion is belief in a god and something that isn't tangible. So the fact that you bring up that there is no physical proof, a very tangible thing, actually strengthens the argument of religion. Additionally, the bible is written to be interpreted and teach moral lessons. It isn't supposed to a history book which you open up and find factual information. I think you'd actually be pretty hard pressed to find any accounts that give a totally factual analysis from that time period.
It's funny that you bring up the word "truth". In ancient times the word truth meant sincerity in action and thought. Probably why truth is in the bible so much. Truth was never defined as fact back then.
As for other religions, no one is discrediting religion here except you and a handful of other people. I choose not to believe all the teachings of Islam, Hinduism, or other various religions. However, Islam and Christianity and Judaism all believe in essentially the same God. However Christianity believes Jesus Christ is God as well while Judaism and Islam only see him as a prophet. In the grand scheme of things these major religions all believe in essentially the same God. Hinduism is an exception, I don't particularly know much about it, however it's principles are still very similar to that of the other major religions, that if you are good here on Earth than you will be rewarded, whether it be with 77 virgins, heaven, or incarnation.
I will not convert using tangible evidence, no one will, nor is that the point of religion. From John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Notice that the key phrase is "whoever believes in him...". It's about faith not about tangible evidence. God is transcendent, he's not supposed to be some guy you meet at the bar and become drinking mates with. IF you want to believe in God, ho ahead, but I will not convince you with earthly things, nor will anyone.
As for your other points, the pope is somewhat right. Condoms do not prevent HIV/AIDS. The chance that they do is literally 1 in a million. It's like trying to stop a marble from getting through a doorway.
Everyone chooses to be a Christian, through Baptism you don't have a voice so your parents chose for you, but through confirmation you 'confirm' that you want to be a Christian and actively choose to follow the faith
