Rakneon, The Reaper of Magic

(rack-knee-on)

Role: Mid, Melee, Fighter

"I will rid this world of magic."

BIO
Magicians killed his family, so he kills mages. Also uses energy. :\

ABILITIES

Passive: Mana Reap

Rakneon's basic attacks deal 10/20/30 damage to the enemies mana pool.

Q: Rend

Rakneon rends the enemies soul, dealing 60/85/110/135/160 (+1.0 per AD) damage and silences the enemy for 1.5 seconds.
Type: Target Point
Manacost: 50/45/30/35/30
Cooldown: 10/9/8/7/6

W: Spell Shield

Rakneon creates a spell shield, lasting 2 seconds, which reflects an ability used on him. (Ex. If Rakneon blocks Morgana's Dark Binding, Morgana will be stunned at take the damage.)

Type: Self-cast
Manacost: 90/80/70/60/50
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12

E: Mana Shred

Rakneon reduces the mana of all enemies around him in an 800 AoE by 1/2/3/4/5% and heals him for half that amount.

Type: 800 AoE around Rakneon
Manacost: 70/70/70/70/70
Cooldown: 27/24/21/18/15

R: Mana Shatter

Rakneon shatters an enemies mana pool, reducing it by 35/50/65% and dealing half that amount as damage.

Type: Target Point
Cooldown: 160/140/120
Manacost: None

Recommended Build:

Doran's Blade, Berserker's Greaves, Frozen Mallet, Atma's Impaler, Guardian Angel, Bloodthirster

This is similar to Dota's Anti-Mage. While concepting Rakneon, I was actually trying the think of an AD Carry with a twist, and well, it ended up being like Anti-Mage. :(

Feel free to leave a comment below. Constructive criticism is accepted. Thanks for reading!

He would be practically useless against enemies with energy or other champions with none at all ( Garen.
Seems like he could be a support though, not sure about mid, guess I would have to try him first though.
Anyways, that's my thought on him.

Looks like a nice idea, but Rakneon's passive is useless against champions (Garen, Riven, etc). Maybe you could change around a few things. The E should be changed into something else.

Just my opinion, others could have different opinions about this.

Thanks,

build attack speed, completely shut down everyone that uses mana, do not like that passive AT ALL

Q is fine but make the mana costs higher

W needs a longer CD and the spell should shouldnt reflect thats just a bit over powered considering the only other champions with built in spell shields last for less than 2 seconds

E is fine since it only drains 5% at most, and i really really dont like the idea of mana drains in this game but that is very little

R that is ick i dont like it at all because you completely make people useless, its over powered and i dont like it

Mana draining champions arnt good in this game, they are extremely overpowered which is why veigars passive was changed a long time ago (ive been told it used to drain others mana)

One thing i was thinking of, The passive could apply a debuff (or buff whatever) that would make subsequent hits drain a little less mana, That would solve the issue of building High AS aand just depleting already mana hungry champs fast, the same debuff could also to apply to his other skills if it still too op, but i LOVE the idea!

Like someone mentioned earlier, he's useless against Health/energy/resourceless champions.

Secondly, the mana burn mechanic is anti-fun. Let's look at a silence for example.

It's accomplishing the same thing as being out of mana, but you can reduce it or completely negate it. When it comes to being OOM from mana burn, you just wait on your mana to come back. There's no getting around it.

While he is an anti-mage, his kit offers very little counterplay. Especially with the, "You lose 65% of your mana" on a point-and-click spell. No way to dodge it, no way to even lessen the blow. It's always going to be a large chunk of your resource.

If they don't have mana, you feel bad for playing him.

You could always make his attacks be based off their mana, just not change it. It wouldn't feel as good to you as a player because all you're doing is damage, but you still feel useless when you meet a Vlad/Akali/Garen in mid/top lane.
