I have indeed thought about that. However looking at the circumstances, I just needed CDR and the active was useful against 4 of their team members. They didn't buy any magic resist, either.

Void Staff does not require the enemy to have magic resistance, the base magic resistance is already high enough so that void staff increases your damage by A LOT.
