I can't downvote you coz this isn't something to vote on (know it's a copy from the LoL forums) :>
Sounds interesting, I'll wait for people who aren't zombified due to sleeping 2 hours to comment.

Thanks to Amazing Monkey for the sig. Just like his name, he's amazing
I'm sorry this post has given you so much heartburn on the issue drunken0elf. However, chances are those people weren't very good players to begin with. Now, not to say I rush the item, cause I usually don't even build it if I'm going to use it till my 3rd or so item, but I have rushed it in the before and been just fine in lane.
However, rushing it, not rushing it, how bad people are in general who try to rush it or whether or not these people are noobs(which, from what you've said this seems most likely to be the case), this thread is about the answer to the item.
In my experience and also from the higher elo games I have seen where the item is used, Blade of the ruined king is almost broken when used against hp tanks and it still does decent enough damage against everyone else, which is why people use it when they see the enemy is stacking health or have a hp tank of their team.
Now, please try to keep responses more on topic about what the original post is about, rather than taking this opportunity to moan and complain about the item because you've had bad experiences about it. If you want to do that, go make your own thread and post your grievances there for others to join you, leave it out of mine.

Randuins is basically the best counter to BorK.
HP, Armor and an AS/MS slowing passive/active.
BorK's self-peel is made moderately useless with the active since it allows you re-close the gap after they run, and makes it so they attack slower, again.

Do you mean that the 30% of the botrk passive damage is returned to the ad-carry? If not, thornmail doesn't counter botrk then botrk counters thornmail lel.
Ty MM and Blood for the sigs :3 | Rammus is comming back - heard it here first!

Ok, so as we have all seen, Blade of the Ruined King has pretty much been the answer to any and all high hp based tanks or champs.
Dr. Mundo, Singed, and Olaf, just to name a few, have all suffered greatly from the advent of this item. Now, from what I have seen in the past, most have tried using Randuin's Omen as the answer to this item, and the results have been mixed to say the least.
I find that the item is not the greatest answer, mostly because since it adds more health, the extra health helps counter the extra armor when factoring in how much dmg the Blade does to you.
So, with this in mind, I did some testing with some friends and believe I have found the correct counter to this item.
That answer is simple this: Thornmail.
"Hey noob, all hp% dmg item deal their dmg as magic dmg, and therefore thornmail won't do anything about it, dur hur hur...."
Right, heard this before, but let me stop you there. Normally I would agree, but if you read the description of Blade of the Ruined King carefully, and I'll post it here so you can see for yourself, Blade of the Ruined King deals its extra hp% dmg as bonus Physical damage.
In case you missed that, here it is again from a item description as posted by mobafire:
UNIQUE Passive: Deals 5% of the target's current Health in bonus physical damage (max 60 damage vs. monsters and minions) on hit. UNIQUE Active: Deals 15% of target champion's maximum Health as physical damage (min. 100),
Now with that in mind, Thornmail does indeed work, but maybe not in the way you're thinking. Yes, the armor does negate some of the extra damage, but the real vaule of the item here is the passive which deals 30% of dmg taken back to the attacker.
So, even though you've stacked health which makes the Blade stronger against you, the back damage that the Thornmail deals back to the attacker using the blade evens the odds and allows you to once again go up against them, because while the Blade is still doing wonderful dmg to you, it's also doing its wonderful dmg back on them which will allow you to once again out-sustain them and tank them once more.
Again, I did test this with a friend, using the king of all hp tanks, Dr. Mundo, and before I built the Thornmail, he wrecked me, as expected. As a side note, he was using Jax. After I built the Thornmail, I was once again able to tank him, and not only that, kill him.
Now, before you downvote me, go try this yourselves with your friends or in games, and if it doesn't work, if you see no difference at all, downvote and troll away, but just try it first.
Also, if you want exact numbers and figures, I can try and put together some figures if you want, otherwise, do them yourself.
