Diana Jungle Build

Hey guys,

Been surfin around a few sites (here, lolking, solomid, lolpro, the usual) for a "go to" diana jungle guide. I've found a few guides, but they seem to really disagree as far as a build path goes. When I run most of my junglers, the first few buys are pretty standard, and I really feel like I'm getting somewhere when I base to purchase. Like finishing madred's really helps my clear, or vamp scepter is gonna help keep me topped off in the jungle, etc.

But with Diana, I don't have that feeling. Should I be upgrading machete into spirit stone? I keep hearing how bad spectral wraith is, and revolver isn't really great on diana, so don't even bother? Typically I've been rushing philo stone and kage's pick, which is good, but doesn't really help much early game.

And even after getting those core "jungle" items, I'm left not knowing really what to build into. I often rush Abyssal's, but sometimes think building negatron so early is a bit of a waste, been thinking more and more about rushing zhonya's in the jungle, but even after armguard, waiting the 1600 for NLR can hurt when you aren't getting lane farm.

So, after all that, all I'm really looking for is someone that has had a good deal of success playing Diana in the jungle, and tell me how you itemize early in the game and transition to late game. Really wanna pick her up after seeing her return to prominence in LCS in both mid and top lane. Thanks!

For jungle Diana I'd go for survivable AP items first, like Rylai's Crystal Scepter or Abyssal Mask. If you're mondo fed you can rush a Deathcap but that likely won't happen in many games. Zhonya's Hourglass is also an effective buy on her. Basically focus on durability, but with AP in your mind as well, she is first and foremost, a mage. Other mentionable items for jungle Diana could be Sunfire Aegis, Rod of Ages, and possibly even Nashor's Tooth.

And yea, Spectral wraith isnt very good on her because only her ultimate is single target, and spellvamp is meh on a largely AoE character.

Thanks so much - yea that's what I was thinking. Do you upgrade machete at all, just get spirit stone and leave it? Or none of that?

Eh, I wouldn't Spirit Stone. isn't as awesome to hold onto and not upgrade as Madreds. I'd probably just leave it as a machete.

Iceborn Gauntlet is ****ing fantastic on Diana. Esp when you're jungling and need to be tanky while dealing tons of AoE damage.

Spectral Wraith might not be too bad on Diana, I've seen it used in a tournament, but then that Diana was laning (Forgot who it was). I'd just leave it at Spirit Stone because the regen helps a lot. Madreds is bad. Vamp Scepter is close to WTF.

Philo Stone doesn't do anything for you.

Doran's Ring is good.

Rushing Abyssal is okay, but if they have an AD Mid and Top, it's useless.

Armguard is amazing.

Twin Shadows is amazing.

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is good.

Randuin's Omen is good.

Nashor's Tooth is REALLY good because of your high base damage + low cooldowns.

RoA sucks.

For a general build path, OTG is right, AP + Durability, but since you aren't the AP Carry you don't need to prioritize full damage. And since most junglers are expected to be front line, building some tank items are a must.

What asian said. Diana is AMAZING with resistances and cdr+pen, she doesn't require fulldumb AP to be effective. However, remember to distinguish what you're doing, don't expect to duel a fullbuild Vayne and poop on her.
