As for that Bronze V guy, he's probably tempbanned for a couple days. Now he's the one who has nothing to contribute - the community could do without him, frankly speaking.
'This guide sucks -1' is extremely useful. It tells you, for one, that the guide sucks. It should be an indication that the author has done something wrong. It should then fall on the author to try and see what is wrong. If nothing is found, then it may be disregarded. If something IS found, the comment has been useful insofar as directing your attention to it.
We are not obliged to help the guide writer. In fact, it should be the case that we find nothing wrong with a guide, but rather that we point out minor errors. If something as hugely wrong as items, then why should we help them with their guide? They were in no position to write one. If they want advice on how to play her, they do NOT write a guide, and we'd be happy to answer inside of a PM or forum.
And you're seriously worried about someone having their feelings hurt? Much as we could sugar-coat our words, it's a huge waste of time and, quite frankly, we're not interested in doing that. If the criticized is unable to take it on the chin, that's not that critic's fault.
If you want to make MOBAFire a more useful community, you can start by downvoting all the useless guides to discourage future guide writers from writing before they have even ample knowledge about what they are writing.
Like I'm said, I'm not saying don't DOWNVOTE. That's fine. Go ahead, but if you're going to comment, make the comment useful. It's not my guide, so I don't care if it's downvoted or not. I'm not asking him to make a whole 'nother counter-guide, I'm asking him (and everyone else who does similar such) to try atleast TRY to make MOBAfire a more helpful community at every corner you can. I don't mind swearing, but use constructive swearing. Do you catch my drift?
Not nearly enough time. It took me months just to write a guide, let alone to research for it.
Thus this:
Is also bs.
Oi, go **** yourself you low life ****. I don't give a **** if I am in bronze, I don't spend my ****ing life on this game, which you clearly do. So do me a favor? Go **** yourself. I hope your family gets shot in front of you, then you get raped and shoved in a ditch.
I think that's pretty much too far for just trying to give some emotional value to your post. Yeah.
Way too far.
Jesus Christ, Lagger. Why not try giving some constructive critisism instead of just talking down on what you consider "lesser players", or point people to your guides instead of just being a bully and an *******. You're like the 4th grader at the park who pushes around 2nd graders because you can.
Let's sum up what MOBAFire actually is:
An online system to share your guides to help people learn the game with other people. Everyone has the right to rate your guide based on their opinion of the usefulness and viability of the guide, to protect new players from guides that do not help them to lean the game, but instead teach not that good or just terrible false information, in their opinion. So if your guide has a low rating, it means that the majority of the readers did not find your guide useful or simply not the best guide out there. It's completely free to the voter to explain his choices or not, how irritating it may be at some times, it's all about opinion of the (majority of the) readers, and that's what you should care about if you want to improve your guide. If you'd like to know what you did wrong, then watch the comments of people who tell you what they didn't agree on or think was not useful. Be very glad if you get those comments, because again people aren't forced to give them. If you'd like to get more information about some people's opinions, then I can only advise you to politely ask for it.
Downvoting is not the same as bullying. It's necessary for this voting system to work. If the red button was never pushed all the **** guides published every day would be on the front page, which will do the usefulness of mobafire no good, and your time and patience too.
I'm going to write a decent concept of this so I can reuse it every time xD
