As a jungler, always be watching your lanes. You'll gain vital information, even when you're not ganking. Such as where the enemy jungler is, and if they have used their ultimate or summoner spells. This can give you a great indication of what lane is available for a more successful gank, or it can open the door to safe counter jungling.
This may be a branch off of some other tips, but when someone wards you can see the animation, as well as hear the noise. Always inform your jungle or whoever's ganking where wards are, with phrases like 'pinked' if there is a pink ward there, or just plain 'warded'.
Know when to play X champion and not Y champion:
Do your best to synergize with your team and pick according to their picks in champion select.
For example: If you are jungling and you see that your team lacks initiation / CC, pick
Nautilus or a similar jungler in terms of utility, not
Shaco.
Beware: Stay within your comfort zone, if you're not confident with a certain champion, there's no need to pick him no matter the utility it can bring to the team.

Sometimes something is your fault. Don't rage at other people, or even blame them in your own head for your own screw ups. It forms bad habits and a bad attitude. For instance if you lose lane don't blame your jungler for not ganking enough. It is your lane to win, not his or mid's. If you expect others to win your lane for you then you are bad, and you're just making excuses for yourself.
Some of these tips are similar, so I may start "merging" them. If I merge a tip, I'll be sure to include all participant names. For example, there were about 3-4 tips about particle effects; I'll merge these into one comprehensive post and list the contributors.
Vyn suggested something to me in a PM which was essentially, "Why not post TIL tips/tricks"? This can keep the advice flowing.
For instance:
TIL Teleport is a channelled summoner spell, meaning you can press it to start teleporting, but press it again to stop the action.
(Obviously this isn't something I just learned, but it is a good example of something someone new may not know, and is not actually "advice" per se, but more of a useful tip)

Baron nashor is a noob trap.
It is safe for you to take baron nashor when
Baron gives your team a extremely powerful buff but sometimes it isn't worth the risk of getting aced.
It is safe for you to take baron nashor when
-
-The enemy team is Aced.
- You have vision of enemies and they are nowhere near baron (ex. CLG v C9 3 CLG members showed bot and C9 took baron)
- You have the area pink warded and the enemy has 0 vision
-You can take down baron extremely quickly (ex. Nunu, Late game, etc.

If you don't have time to type out a strategy for your team, pings work, just don't go crazy because no one listens to the boy who called wolf
Learn what pings actually mean.
For instance, if I'm pinging for you to be careful when you are low HP and under no immediate threat under tower, it is because I want you to recall for safety.
I blue ping top when nobody's there? I'm taking farm.
I target someone? Gank (when in lane) or focus (when in team fights).
I ping our own tower? HELP!
And so on and so forth.
edit: And PLEASE watch the mini-map, pleeeeeeeease do.
