That is true... .-.

On a side note, the laning phase typically does not have that long of a duration. You can almost always expect to be in the mid-game phase by around level 11 at the latest, which completely defeats your argument on having W for extra lane dominance.

@Laggermeister: It's true that bonus damage against champions > everything else. Do keep in mind that League is not some MMO where you do damage in the 5-6 digits every second. For a beginning player (Which I'm assuming most guide readers generally are), having that extra CS advantage would be greater than having a passive damage boost.

Let's say there are two players of equal skill level. One takes Havoc mastery, the other Butcher and Destruction . The one taking Havoc would almost certainly win out early game, but if the other player knows how to farm up and play passively, they will almost always win late game. Thing is, even something as trivial as a Long Sword out-weighs the damage granted by Havoc .

I'm not saying Havoc is bad, I'm saying that Butcher is a better choice for a beginning player. If you're confident you won't miss any CS that you have access to, taking Havoc would be better. Butcher is better used as aid for a player that may be less experienced. Again, most players that would refer to guides probably ARE less experienced.

That is true, but I prefer the extra lane control the 12 less CD gives on W.

You have a great reasoning that it is an escape method, but unless your versing a Nocturne jungle, you usually do want to prioritize W over E, W lets you have more lane control and dominance.

Wrong. The most important aspect of W - snare duration - does not scale with rank, hence W is clearly a one-point wonder. E over W, no exceptions.

To Retribution, I have actually read your Lux guide before making this. But to comment on
Quoted:

Tl;dr: This guide is not complete as of yet. 2 hours wont do, especially when I was tired. I will update, thank you for the comments.

No numbers needed for my argument. Bonus damage against champions > more bonus damage against everything else. That is all.

If you insist on calculations.

Havoc grants only a 2% damage boost.

It might sound like a lot, but for every 1000 damage you deal, you only get 20 bonus, which is extremely trivial.

Also, guides are typically targeted towards more beginning players. Thus, we can assume that they wouldn't be that great at last hitting and other mechanics in general. The bonus damage on Butcher will get them more CS, which will in turn allow them to buy more items, and deal more damage than the 20 bonus per 1000. Destruction is better, especially on Caitlyn, as that champion is just so amazing at pushing and sieging towers.

If you really, really, REALLY hate Butcher , get like Sorcery or something. In the end, those are all more useful than Havoc .

On a side note, I have a paragraph dedicated to why you DON't use Havoc in my Lux guide, and it doesn't look like anyone has criticized that. If you want to, go ahead.

Regardless what your claims may be, back it up with numbers and real evidence.

Wait did my eyes just deceive me? Retribution advising ditching Havoc for Butcher and Destruction? Re-verify elo as Bronze II please.

2% damage boost on EVERYTHING is in the end more than 5% on turrets and 4% or less on minions.

More specifically, you should always prioritize E over W, because it is literally your only escape method other than summoner spells. It's the same reason why you max Arcane Shift over Essence Flux on Ezreal.

Your masteries aren't *that* bad, but you might want to try a 21/5/4 setup, which is better. Oh, and just get rid of Havoc , and put those points into Butcher and Destruction . A 2% damage boost is useless, regardless which point of the game you're at.

In all honesty, the information in your guide isn't bad, with an exception in the skill sequence section. However, you don't explain your reasoning behind the choices. It doesn't give people an idea as to why you want to buy this item and not that, etc. As of right now, it looks incomplete.
