Personally, I find [i]Denpa Onna[/i]'s art to be much better simply because it's more detailed and the color vibrance is more appealing. But again, it's because digital art had 13 years in front of it to improve since the release of [i]SEL[/i], so it doesn't mean SEL's art is bad, it's just ... I will admit the fact that the word "old" comes first to mind, I won't deny that. But you're totally right, we can't assign a value to the word "old", because "old" does not imply "good" or "bad", it's just "old". So the real issue here is, should we take into account an anime's release date when we analyze its art? If we should, then [i]SEL[/i] has decent art considering it was released in 1998.
