I enjoy playing Zyra both AP Mid and Support. My question is: At lower Elo (Silver & Bronze) is it more advisable to play her as AP Mid or Support in order to have a better chance of success in ranked games at this level? And if you suggest a position, can you specify team compositions that can compliment her abilities while at AP Mid or as a Support? Thanks!

P.S: I also have heard that Zyra can potentially jungle although I am unfamiliar with her style of play in this role. If someone has incite on this as well I would love to hear about it.

Does it work in normals? if yes, it will also work in Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Some of my pals said that pretty much everything works in Plat also, but I don't know whether to believe it or not.
I don't play LoL anymore.

Last Zyra support I faced got ***ed. Personally I think she's too reliant on hitting all her skills, and too squishy for bot lane.

I used to main mid Zyra, she is a beast when played correctly. Ultimate is a game-changer, and she can cast out constant AoE burst with her Q, on top of good harass via plants (albeit pushing the lane).

You need to be extremely good to be an effective support with her.

Both mid and support he is really skillshot reliant so don't play her if you don't know how to hit skillshots. She is good support against some combinations and can do well but I think that Fiddlesticks or Lulu are better supports.

It's easier to carry as a mid laner, but Zyra is stronger in the support role. If you main her, I'd suggest just taking mid when you can and support when needed. You can pretty much support whenever you want in low elo soloqueue so you should be able to play her a ton.
Thanks to The_Nameless_Bard for the sig!

Well you can always start as Zyra support and start a bit supportish but you end up having a Rabadon's Deathcap and other high AP items. This amount of AP will give you quite some damages but still you'll be having wards etc.

Not the most efficient build but still makes zyra fun to play and could be a huge asset to your team regarding to teamfights.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't her root somewhat easy to land? It's hit box is very wide so you can hit it easily from all sorts of strange angles. That's just an impression I got while jungling with her.

I agree with people here who said she's better support. Her root goes through minions afaik, plants have many uses which include harassing the enemy and she can create a very convinient "do not enter" zone with her ulti.

Midlane (actually) carries harder. It's hard to imagine a game where the support does more work into snowballing a win than a support. Solo queue is all about individual play and carrying.

I love playing Zyra as support. The snare is so good that Varus would fall in love with me.

The only bad thing is I taking some creep kills when attempting to snare+seed+deadly bloom. But hey, its good when you able to make their adc(marksman) and support to half life by landing the combos on them.

Her poke harass range is superb too.

anything can work in any elo. but there are mcsteams that use apzyra fairly frequently, so go for whatever you enjoy most -> you improve at the most rapid rate possible
