The only thing I still don't understand is why Totoro kept the umbrella. I get that he liked the sound of rain falling on it but I still don't know what the writer was thinking when he decided that Totoro would keep it. Is it to show that Totoro is now a father figure for Satsuki and Mei since the umbrella belonged to their father?

Just read chapter 48 and watched episode 18 of Shingeki No Kyojin.

The chapter was awesome. I think Erwin might finally have made a mistake after all his near flawless planning.

I'M SO PUMPED.
IT'S GONNA BE AMAZING.

Episode 18 was good. I think we're gonna see Eren fight in episode 20 (and "turn" at the end of ep 19, i***nowwhatimean).

Episode 17

not sure. symbolism is not my strong point. in fact it is a very strong weak point for me as i tend to see in black and white. you are definitely right about the sound of the rain on the umbrella...other than that i can't say.

I'm too lazy to put any more effort into solving mystery than seeing what my intuition brings up, so I can't really judge it on awesomeness of the mystery (I just like to find out the solution and then marvel at all the threads leading to it), however I really enjoyed Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni as a psychological thriller/mystery.

Maybe I should watch it again, it's more than a few years since I last saw it.

And yes, it was pretty good :D

EDIT: Watched the first episode of Detective Conan. It is a bit too silly :P

Yeah, it was pretty lighthearted, but I have been watching it recently and really enjoy it. :) It has some interesting ideas for committing murders / figuring out whodunit. I like the art. :3

When you said mystery I thought you meant like, detective / crime solver. Maybe you could elaborate a bit? Do you mean like, an anime with a mystery in it and you spend the anime trying to figure out what's going on?

I just also thought of one that applies to both, Gosick. A lot more recent anime than Conan and more serious.

Another: One of the worth watching mystery anime out there. It has a bit of horror/thriller elements, so if you like Higurashi, you'll enjoy this anime.

Gosick: My favourite mystery anime. The cases are so intriguing and the main female character is fun to watch.

Mushishi: I didn't watch this one, but people claim that it's fairly one of the best mystery anime, and a good anime in general.
