Le Pro of d00m- Katarina is bad because :

She has too many unfavorable match ups in mid lane. And the only way she can farm safely is by using Bouncing Blades which pushes the wave.

Her Death Lotus is way too easy to stop and due to it's short (550) range tends to leave you right in the middle of enemy team and while Zhonya's Hourglass might save you for 2.5s if by that time you do not get reset you just die.

When going for a kill you are forced to use your only escape mechanic meaning you have no way out aside from Flash.

She has no built in CC meaning she only brings damage to her team and because you can not be certain that you will get to your ultimate off your damage wildly varies.

Other popular mid laners simply bring more to the table then she does. For example Syndra, Orianna, Ziggs even if they are behind can still offer assistance to there team via utility.

If I can think of more reasons why Katarina is not good I will edit this post.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

True, DL is easy to interrupt. But if you have a good teamcomp ( eg leona with her stuns ) or shen with the taunt. She can just go Ham on em.

Kat is more team based champ. And I agree that other mid lane champs are better, she is a cleanup champ. If kat gets feds all the focus is on her cuz she will be deadly.

And I like her.

Kat is actually very strong right now. She loses lane to practically everyone, but no matter how hard I've shut her down in laning phase, every time I play against her she seems to score a triple kill every team-fight and end up being the largest threat on the enemy team, without fail.

Champion/Lane i like to play them
Jax / Top - Nerfed loses to all of the tier 1 tops
Hecarim / Top,Jungle - Weak as ****, unplayable. Gets wrecked by early game junglers.
Volibear / Support/Top - Weak tier 3 top and not a support.
Xin Zhao / Top/Mid - Weak loses to true bruisers and all tier 1 tops.
Aatrox / Top - Weak since the nerf once again loses to true bruisers and tier 1 tops
Sivir / Bot - Great
Galio / Top/Mid/Support - **** tier in any role.
Pantheon / Top - ****ty loses to ganks and all tier 1 tops.
Evelynn / Jungle - Great esp, in lower elos
Champions i heard where good.
Darius - ****ty tier 3 top losses to ganks and tier 1 tops.
Ryze - a counterpick mid AT BEST loses to many tier 1 mids and lacks poke/burst.
Jax - Covered him already hes solid tier 2.
Irelia - A worse version of Jax
Swain - tier 2, he's alright but lacks burst and dies to focus/cc
Riven I'm Awful with Riven :( - Tier 1 top if you aren't vsing another tier 1. Tier 1 mid.
Lee Sin - Tier 2 now that games go later
Malphite - underrated in the mid lane but has rough matchups for Top and is an unplayable jungler
Katarina - Weak tier 3, not very good.
Diana - Weak since latest batch of nerfs also tier 3.

there is no secret to being good at this game. Master 1-2 Tier 1 champions, play them every game you can.

Champs I would recommend for ranked at platinum/dia
Support - Annie, Thresh, Poppy

Poppy support? Is that a typo or do you really recommend that? It makes no sense to me but I'm not D1...
I feel confused
I'm more than ADC main, i'm a DRAVEN MAIN!

well yeah the match ups are unfavorable if you don't know what you are doing. That's true with any champion. Just because Kat can't farm safely doesn't mean it can't be done. Kat doesn't farm well until the you have a few points in Sinister steal anyway. Kat, being manaless can spam her abilities without end. what's this mean for the other mid lane? well they have to manage their mana a bit more carefully. which they can't do if you force them to spend the mana. you do this by forcign them to trade abilities with you by initiating on them whenever your Shunpo is up. E>Q>W them and they will be forced to react their combo. do enough enough and they won't be able to react any more. Kat wins most trades at level 3 because of this.

Kat can also roam very well. She has a gap closer that you can follow up with AoE Damage which can be spammed because of its low cooldown. Kat doesn't farm minions. She farms Champions. She makes excellent trades at an early level compared to most other mids. and by keep ign the Mid laner down you quickly establish lane dominance and can pretty much do what you want.

Katarina is bad, she has no favorable lane matchups anymore and its easy to zone her from Cs.

Read my post. Valkrin also has her on his god tier list, and at my Elo at least she just stomps team-fights no matter how far behind she gets. I've seen Katarina's go from 0/4 to 9/4 in just a few team-fights. I swear every time I've set a Katarina behind since her buff, she keeps getting a triple kill in the very first team-fight, and several more multi-kills after that. Yeah her laning phase is disgustingly bad, but I can't ever set her far enough behind that she won't still be a team-fighting beast.

Yeah the only way to keep Katarina down is either suck balls with her, or to keep her as teh focus instead of the ADC, which frees up the ADC to deal the damages and Kat will still get assists from the fight.
