Manga/Anime You Read/Watch

Not the fact that it looks like a little girl with basically just a sheet covering... most of its naked body? The last chapter is the best one in my opinion, because it plays out much more naturally. Other parts of the manga feel a little like an exposition-dump, where they explain things I really didn't think needed explaining. It is a short series, so that kind of explaining can be forgiven to some degree though. It felt flat out dumb, really. I'm still gonna try to give it a chapter or two more, but my hopes are very low now :/[/quote]

For example, I'd say Hunter x Hunter > Bleach. Very similiar story, characters and animation. Plot: "A Hunter is one who travels the world doing all sorts of dangerous tasks. From capturing criminals to searching deep within uncharted lands for any lost treasures. Gon is a young boy whose father disappeared long ago, being a Hunter. He believes if he could also follow his father's path, he could one day reunite with him. After becoming 12, Gon leaves his home and takes on the task of entering the Hunter exam, notorious for its low success rate and high probability of death to become an official Hunter. He befriends the revenge-driven Kurapika, the doctor-to-be Leorio and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua in the exam, with their friendship prevailing throughout the many trials and threats they come upon taking on the dangerous career of a Hunter." -> It's the same story as One piece where it feels boring in the beginning but gets more interesting once you watch few episodes. Really liked it so far (it's still ongoing). I preferred older version but you're forced to watch Hunter X Hunter (2011) to continue watching as older version ends half way trough. I really liked how the story progressed to the end and the crazy turning points. Disliked the main character but the surroundings made up for it and fit really well. Plot: "Takumi Nishijou, a high school student at the Private Suimei Academy, one day hears about the 'New Gen' murders that have been occurring around the city. Although dismissing the subject because it doesn't involve him, Takumi begins to experience strange mishaps around him, from a horrific picture he received while on his PC, to a mysterious Pink-Haired girl standing at a murder scene. From there on Takumi struggles to cope with the events unfolding around him, and is soon unaware of what is real or a delusion. As his fate opens up before him, the perpetrator behind the 'New Gen' events attempts to find him, leading him into a world where nothing is as it seems." -> I had few moments in the middle where I lost interest for episode or two but the turning points and the ending was just so good. Was worth it. It really needs to be handled well to be any good, but it definitely has great potential. I have a feeling that it's gonna turn out like Ano Hana though and fly well below expectations (i.e: be a disappointment). I'd be interested in seeing Lifebaka's opinions on this one :P[/quote]

I also watched a few episodes of Oreimo again. On the edge comedy, inside-jokes and fan-service is part of the plot. Against all my expectations it doesn't take place at school. In fact, I don't even think I've seen a school yet. EDIT: I've reached a great dilemma. Apparently there's a Good End and True End version of episode 12(Yes, I've done my research...). This has led me to believe the following: 1. Suddenly this becomes either a seriously weird anime or they're making fun of eroge games. 2. I'm going to rage here for at least one of the endings. Furthermore I have only time for one version. I guess I'm going to watch the True ending now, because *insert Plato joke here*. EDIT2: I did some research and I think the Good End version was broadcast first so I'll go with that. Will make our Greek friend happy too. EDIT3: Obviously I ended up watching both and ruined my sleep time. Let's just say it was a very dark cave. Well-executed though. In one way it was a prank but in the other it was pretty interesting. The real-world footage outro was a nice idea too. I'm probably just on the edge all the time because I read it's a weird anime. It's nothing spectacular really. I should get a blog. The art style of Nagi no Asukara looks familiar but I have no idea why.[/quote]

[/quote] From what I've heard and discussed with friends/other forums, it was expected to be around watchable but most of them recommend the show later on. I fall in this category too. Depends on the individual tho.[/quote]
